@xmikeeeeeee Lu Bu didn't die to Guan Yu. Ironically, Lu Bu was betrayed by his own men long after he betrayed Dong Zhuo. After this battle, Dong Zhuo would retreat to another city, and Lu Bu would betray and kill him. Later on, Lu Bu would join Liu Bei's force, only to betray Liu Bei as well to take a city for his own. Later on, Lu Bu's men would betray him and give his horse, Red Hare, to a general of one of the three kingdoms (I forget who exactly, but I think Cao Cao ended up with it.)

and the funny thing is that Liu Bei gave the city to Lu Bu. Liu Bei then stayed in a smaller city nearby, but then went away when Zhang Fei stole Lu Bu's horses.

Though I will admit, the peacock feathers he wears in most video games are awesome. Too bad he's beefed up entirely too much in most Dynasty Warriors games, and is practically unbeatable until you've almost maxed your characters out. Romance of the Three Kingdoms though, he was my general. Never betrayed me! :P

There's a Chinese TV show where they had an interview with a group of Actors in this series and they say they were issued with 2 kind of weapons one which is made of rubber and the other is made of iron. The ones they used for the duels are the real stuff made of Iron which weighed about 15 kg / 33 pounds. These actors put a lot of effort since the director was incredible strict and want the duels to be realistic.

That's the point. Lubu had 3 fathers: Dong Zhuo, Ding Yuan, and his biological father. He killed Ding Yuan to join Dong Zhuo, then later killed Dong Zhuo.

Those fights aren't pointless. Maybe at our time where leaders stay as far as possible. But at these times duels were used to boost ones army morale. Duels were often the easiest way to determine a war and not to loose your armies loyalty. Also these guys had alot more discipline to not be afraid of death and even saw it has an honor.

Actually, the three brothers do join the effort by Yuan Shao to take down Dong Zuo's resistance and try to restore the Han Dynasty's power. But, they leave the alliance shortly after they put down the rebellion to pursue their own objectives, eventually forming the Kingdom of Shu.
