  • whew i'm so happy that my great great grandfather survived World War l

  • i cried wilst watching this vid

  • my chior sang this... i love this song its so beautiful

  • @the thebaldybishop Everyone is entitled to an opinion, I suppose.

But tell me, what do you mean by "spinless"? Does it mean I can't spin, or is it that you can't spell? Maybe you can't which could mean that you are either immature or too underfurnished to provide anything useful here. But hold! Is it possible that, while writing your insults, you were under enemy fire?? Wow!!

By the way, I spent 8 years in the armed forces, Where were you, toy soldier? Dreaming of becoming a heroe?

  • This song is glorifying war, fact. Look at the last lines and you will see one reason why it was not possible to stop this war much earlier. If it had stopped, millions would have lived and much weeping would have been unnecessary. Also, regarding these last lines, I find it irresponsible to have children sing or recite this piece of patriotic drumbeating and xenophobia.

  • @jensww22 you are a fuckin spinless coward

  • Thank you to all veterans of war. You walked in hell many will never know. Peace to you.

  • wtf the ending. completely different. lol. imma song in quier this song on ANZAC day.

  • this makes me think of sad times... like... when my cats died, and when I had to say goodbye for the last time to my loved kittens.. (My closet kitten had to go, and I cried sooooo much) :'( D':

  • thanks to all are troops i will always remeamber them all!

  • Never forget the brothers who gave their lives for what they believed As much as those who fought for a sixpenny a day For no matter the cause, the reason or rhyme They were soldiers, fighters, warriors to a man And to their honor, I think you should stand Upon that Hallowed land And pay respect, to these men who died So you and I can sit by the fireside And pay chance, to love our daughters, sisters, fathers and wives. --- Never forget the sacrifices made to keep us in a good life
  • My sister choir In Charlotte Anderson Elementrary

  • Lets all remember then young strong and brave men and women that lost their lives trying to make our country safe and free from war, they deserve a very big thank you and for everyone to understand what they went through to save our lives.

  • a few days ago i did a workcamp in flandern. we cultivated soldiers' graves, that died in first world war. the work was so touching like the poem.

every time i read the poem or listen to the song, i'm nearly crying.

i hope nobody will ever break faith with the soldiers, who died in wars.

all I can do as a 16 year-old-german-boy is to honour the soldiers and let them have a face.

sorry for my english, i know it's worse.

  • i had to sing this for a district choras audition

  • This makes me cry, as a war poet myself I cannot even compare my work to john mccraes as I was not in the war. The vocals add a unique emotion, thank you for posting this beautiful videp.

  • @zola254ever

Of course you can compare, your work grows as it is heard. Poetry is dynamic, it requires a writer AND a listener. Post up your stuff, we're here to hear.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. In my grandfathers final days he recited this to me from memory. I found it online and played it for him. It was the happiest i had ever seen him. I was going to play it for him on his death bed. But i was never given the chance. It was a great regret. May he rest in peace. Thank you so much for posting this. I appreciate it immensly. Thank you

  • "The larks still bravely singing ,fly"

Wherever we go, we must remember all wars and learn from them, but do not hang on the past, it has already happened, we can't change it, but if we change our ways we will stop it from happening again.

    Lest we forget!

  • I cry whenever I hear this song.

  • We have to sing it in my chorus class,it is a pretty song.

  • A beautiful piece. Makes me cry! My dad a Corpsman had to memorize the poem as a child, now 92. Myself a 6X wounded Vietnam ground pounder, grunt, marine, infantryman always read and send it on on U.S.A. Memorial Day. I will never forget my fallen comrades nor all on both sides and those caught in the middle that died or were destroyed physically and or mentally doing their duty or just trying to survive.

  • This is a beautiful presentation of Flanders Fields. I am moved to tears each time I listen to it. My grandfather (d. 1962)was a doughboy during WWI. I thought of him as I played your video and of my five uncles that served in WWII (the youngest died in France). And of my husband who served in Viet Nam. I want to say thank you to them and to all who have served (and are serving). And to you for such a moving tribute.

  • i love this song but it is soooo sad everytime i see this song i cry

  • i agree wit u 100% i du the same exact thing :[
