I think I once read that the resemblance to Gloria is intentional to further play up the sense of nostalgia in the song.

There are two minor changes in the non-adult version:
In the scene where he lies on the bed, he only wears pants here, while being fully dressed in the other version.
While dancing he is kissing her longer instead of touching her butt.
