Robyn, my jaw dropped hearing you sing this composition. The song's chord choices seem mostly positive, even though the lyrics might not be exactly that. You deliver the song with such calm composure and originality that one might believe you made this all on your own, however on a gloomy day with tears involved.

It's nice to see covers that try not to imitate Joanna's all too impossible to imitate singing style and sing as they interpret it. From what I have seen of Miss Newsom this is how she would like t done to.

It's just a cover. I wasn't particularly pleased with it in all honesty, but a friend asked me to cover it a while ago and so I did it for him. I don't see the big deal. Some people like it, you obviously don't, and that's fair enough. There's really no need for all the rudeness, I'm not planning to release it as a single or enter Pop Idol. finally a real vocalist, doing justice to a great musical composition. Here, the voice sounds real and heartfelt, not like a mockery of itself. I think that in essence Joanna Newsom is a songwriter, and a musician, not at all a singer/songwriter. This is BEAUTIFUL. I'm going to add it to my favorites, just 'cause.
