Thank you for the advice. :) I'm one of those whose planned for years about my first tattoo. I know I certainly will get one, I've just not had the money to really go do it but when I do I'll certainly have it up on YouTube somewhere. :)
I Really want a butterfly on my wrist the only reason I haven't gotten it is because I'm afraid it will hurt my chances of getting a job, but I don't want it anywhere else DAM IT I just have to bite the bullet
I got my first tattoo in august and I love it to death! another tip is to use sunblock on your tattoo in the summer time because the sun will fade your tattoo
One of my friends got a tattoo on his shoulder without telling anyone, the next day for whatever reason he continuously got slapped on that shoulder for a "Hey Man!" greeting that day, needless to say that while the tattoo got out of it more or less in perfect condition he was not happy at all that day. >.> Moral of this story, for guys anyway, either don't get it on your shoulder, or make sure your friends know, and know you'll beat them or what ever passes for "don't" among you.
This was a brilliant tattoo Leah, thank you. Very informative without being patronising at all. It's obvious you know what you're talking about, I'll be sure to re-watch this video before I get any ink done!
regret can also be an issue if you don't like the artist! make sure the person who does the art work is someone you like and respect and also respects you and what you want. :) don't get something done by someone just because they're offering the best price.
@xXBarbeloXx This is also a good point =) This is why I brought up researching shops and artists to find the best person to do the work =) Cheapest isn't always best, especially when it comes to tattoos. I've found this out the hard way, unfortunately, lol.
There is a tattoo convention happening in three weeks and I wanted to get my first tattoo done there. Would you recommend this? I think it would be a good idea because I'd get to see many artists all in one day and pick which one is the best and all that but should I rather take their name and go to the shop AFTER the convention?
@DollPartsVII That's a really good question, and I've never been to a tattoo convention, so I don't really know how to advise you on this. Personally, I would go and scout out the artists, like you said, and then visit the shop after the convention. Not for really any reason than I'd just be more comfortable with that, especially for the first tattoo. But, again, I'm not sure how to properly advise you.
@TheShadowesArtist Thanks =) Lol, yeah...I wasn't quite falling asleep on my first one but I remember I could have, because it didn't hurt and I was really relaxed =P
I already I know what my first tattoo is going to be, and I thought of it when I was 14- early 15. Three years ahead of time XD I draw it on with sharpie every day because I just feel like it's SUPPOSED to be there. I can't wait. ♥
Thanks for making this video, I was wondering about a lot of things and you answered all my questions :]
Very nice video! I just want to say one thing. I have quite a lot of tattoos and my tattoo-artist always gives me vaseline to put on it while healing. And I could put it on whenever I felt like it, I guess. And that worked perfectly. Not too much of it, ofcourse. But my point is, that people can get different advice from their artist.
im 28 and Im kind of proud of not having any tattoos, like she said make sure 20-40 years down the road you'll still like them.
But im like everyone else, horrible at predicting the future.
The only thing i've been considering is the Quake II logo. Something dark and manacing about it. Just looking at it, its screams "Death, Blood and Destruction"
My first tattoo was on my back, and it took 3h to do it and it hurt like hell the hole time >_< I was crying and skreaming and the poor tattooer had to stand out with me, but it turned out perfect and i love it so much, it was totaly worth it.
Great video! I know you suffer from anxiety issues, Did your first time getting a tatoo trigger any panic attack of similar? Has it happened any time?
@BarelyNoticeable Somehow, I luckily did not suffer any anxiety or panic when I got my first tattoo, or any of the other ones =) I did have an issue with the tattoo I got right before my most recent one, and had to stop prematurely, but I don't believe it was anxiety-related.
another question: ive always wondered how you do your hair like that, it looks like two pigtails but not quite is it? I just really like the volume and wondered what you do exactly.
@Nergaladdictchic Lol, I haven't heard of that, but I have heard people offer to "set" my tattoos. Best answer to that is a "HELL NO!" and run away! =P
@Nergaladdictchic Yep...that's apparently the same thing as getting it "set", lol. Luckily I've avoided having that done =P That'd be cool if you got one! But I warn you...they're extremely addicting once you get your first one =)

On the subject of neck tattoos. I agree you should be careful about this but I have one and it is concealable by a collared shirt.

@PoisonLoli Keep it covered for at least 3 hours, and it usually completely heals up within a couple weeks.

@LeahMouse My friend's mom got a tattoo one time and her friend baptized it (meaning slapping the tattoo as hard as they could).
I may get a tattoo soon, but I'm still thinking about it.
