Well, even Chris Horner agrees that:

1. the global temperature is changing

2. we can and are affecting the climate

I HOPE that climate change is not true. I consider myself conservative. BUT, how can you deny the findings of the IPCC? Chris Horner references small, nit-picky items that don't actually disprove the credibility of the literature proving the existence of anthropogenic climate change.

there's a lot of money to be made with global warming. Global warming happens but it is debatible what causes it. I personally feel that it is more of a natural thing that we can track throughout history than something that is primarily human made. Humans do have something to do with it but it is minimal in my opinion.

Hell they have now even proved that CO2 increase FOLLOWS temparature increase NOT the other way around.

Republicans are all about big business. Oil is big business. Do you think they're going to jeopardize that? Why the hell would they bury technology that gives you 80 miles to the gallon? Remember when the cigarette companies stood before Congress and said "No, I don't believe nicotine is addictive." Its the same thing with people who say, "I don't believe in global warming." Its not that you don't believe it. You don't want to acknowledge its happening.

Put it this way. If you're on a ship sailing across the ocean, you want the ship to hold together and be alright until you've reached port. Only a fool would purposely damage the ship he's sailing on. Until we colonize other planets, earth is the only planet we've got. If we fuck things up with this planet, we're screwed. If you're a reasonable person, you have no choice but to worry about the environment.

Well OBviously you've been convinced or allowed yourself to be totally convinced that is a man-made thing. The earth has changed it's climate looong before us and will looong after we are gone. To say we have control is vain. And I am not willing to give up my freedom for world control based until further notice on hype. You may not me. The jury is still out for me. Not you though. You know, man is not as feeble as you think. Man has split the atom and even fused the atom and there's enough nuclear weapons on earth to kill 6 billion people. We do have control. Do you think LA was always smog central? Remember the dust bowl in the 1930's which was brought on by over farming. Man does have the power to change his environment. That's why I'm worried. Germ warfare, nuclear warfare, and now the melting of the polar ice caps. Man has power, but he's irreponsible.

we've taken ice core samples dating back to 800,000 years ago and the fact of the matter is that CO2 levels are higher now than they've ever been during the last 800,000 years. This is not open for debate. The levels are the levels. If you don't find that even remotely worrisome, then you're being as obtuse as Bush and Palin.
