  • Ur video is the first one i've found that was so easy to follow as a tutorial!

  • @jahsloved1 Thank you! I try to make my tutorials easy to follow :), close up and bright enough for people to actually see what I'm doing :) I've seen soo many tutorials myself where they don't explain what they're doing, it's all midnight in their bathroom and their hair is black, lol! I didn't want to do that

  • Your hair is gorgeous and don't ever let anyone tell you anything different!! :)

  • @honeypreciousangel97 Thank you honey, I did get a few negative comments after going around with my hair in those twists, but I said oh well, I like it :) That's what matters right?

  • @ayamejoy exactly you have to be you. God bless you

  • Thank you so much! i finally found a tuturial that shows me how to three strand twist!

  • @KishaFierce :) You're welcome!

  • omg ur so cute

  • @Elenkhos awww, thank you :)

  • U just made this look sooooooooooooo easy...out of the videos I've seen!!!! Thanx! I'ma try this tonight..:)

  • @lillunchin1002 Thank you and awesome! How did they turn out? I don't try to make mine perfect so I'm curious as to how other people go about doing theirs :)

  • @ayamejoy They came out great to me...reeeeeally curyly...I liked :)...I'm just lazy...& didn't feel like taking the time to do it every night...lol I wore it maybe 3 times...that's it.

  • @Valeruu11 I don't know, probably :) I haven't had time to try it, it's on my list of things to do though :) I'll make a video when I do :)

  • I lov e this, someone tried to tell me there wasno such thing as 3 Strand twist.. So beautiful. thanks for posting.

  • @LadyShyye Awesome and there sure is! :) Proof, lol :) You're welcome

    Aya

  • Wow, i think thats really cool. Ive never heard of a three strand twist in my life!

  • @l0v346 Awesome :) Glad you've discovered them :)

  • i think this might be the best tutorial ive seen thus far!! and they came out amazing

  • @justowatchvideos thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it {:o)

  • my hair twin =) i def gotta try this

  • @cuteshntl1 awesome! I hope you like the way they turn out :)

  • I always notice that all of the natural hair bloggers are usually married...hmm maybe I can snag me a husband soon LOL......well back to the hair I want to try this!!!!

  • @chocolatelove21 I noticed that too when I first started looking around, there's a few of us that are single though (me too at this time, my hair was one of the things my ex and I argued about, he thought my hair was "unprofessional" and ugly, but I did it anyway) I hope you like it when you try it :)

  • @ayamejoy My ex loved my afro...but he said I looked better with long straight weave :-| ....and he said that if I ever loc my hair he would leave me....we split up....not because of that though lol but I have been all natural since 2007...I don't even use the blow dryer if I can help it...I prefer my hair to dry nautally...I loved how you twisted your hair with these 3 strand twist...I want to try it after I take my braids down :)

  • @chocolatelove21 Booo on the long straight weave comment. That's very shallow of him in my opinion on the loc comment. Awesome! 2007, that's a while you've been natural. How do you like it after all of this time? I don't use a blow dryer, tried it once, thought it was my technique, tried it the second time and decided it wasn't for me, lol! Thank you, I hope you like em when you try them :) Have a good week and sorry it took me so long to respond. Aya

  • @chocolatelove21 I notice that too!Lol

  • wow you make that look sooo easy! I finally got it, but it's takes me a looooong time. The trick to it is to bring the hair in a circle, like a merry-go-round.

  • @Bobbi705 Thank you, and awesome you got it! Exactly, around and around in the same direction :)

  • Best tutorial of this kind of twist that I've seen thus far! Good job. :)

  • @Weena90210 Awesome! That's really cool to hear Weena :) Thank you

  • good video..and I love the texture of your hair...

  • @AKIYIAKELLY Thank you so much and thank you again :) Hope you have a great weekend!!

  • That s the best tutorial for 3 strand twist. Thank you

  • @naturelle15 Thank you so much {:o)

  • you shouldn't use such a comb on your hair your pulling on it too much i think have you thought about using a denman brush even a rattail comb would be better than that brush

  • @carcina27 I've used a denman and those things are the devil for me, you think I go through my hair badly with a comb, get a denman in my hand. It's bad because I know I can do larger sections and it's plastic and supposed to be "gentler" so I forget to start at the ends and all sorts of badness. I'm still working on being nicer to my hair.

  • I cringed when I saw that brush & the sound it made when you brushed it...... that can lead to split ends on fine hair.

  • @CurlyQueueT Yea, I'm still working on being gentler to my hair, I got so used to being called tenderheaded and working that comb though it no matter what sound or pain it caused that it's one of the hardest things for me to get out of. I'm getting better though and I know, if you hear any snapping sounds you're probably breaking your hair, especially if you're combing it wet. I try to be gentler, take my time and use a denman type brush (so the bristles aren't so hard) now.

  • Very informative and well structured. I've always thought 3 strand twists were the same as braids.

You could have played it off with the timeline. I assumed you were doing a brief recap at the end..lol

  • @ihavenotalent heheha! Thank you, and yep they're not the sameas braids, yea operator error at the end there, but I like your idea of a recap right?

  • Excellent tutorial!

  • @funkyredhead1 Thank you so much Funkyredhead1 {:o) Glad you liked it!

  • actually..i thought that was a cool way to end it..kinda like if you didnt get it then..here it is again lol!!!

  • @MsChoriz0 @MsChoriz0 lol thank you, I didn't realize I'd done that until after I posted it but was like well maybe no one will notice lolglad you didn't mind it

  • kind of like hair juggling! :0)

  • @thinkuthink lol, that's what it looks like to me :) Around and around it goes! {:o)

  • well shown! very good video quality as well!

  • @Echoamiadogo2 Thank you, and thank you again, lol! I hate tutorial videos where you can't see what the person is doing so I try and make sure I show it well {:o)

  • Great tutorial! Thank you!

  • @aKinkyHairMonologue You're so very welcome aKinkyHairMonologue {:o)

  • hey ayamejoy..Ive finallylearned how to do this, but unfortunately they unraveled too much on my hair...this was a great tutorial!

  • @watchfuleye2008 Oh that's too bad that they unravel on ya. Maybe you can still find a use for them though, I think when my hair gets longer I'm going to start detangling at night and making 2 giant 3 strand twists instead of plaiting my hair.

  • LoL @ 2:54- 3:00.

I know when you see your hair really curly it can stun you.

  • @MyAfroShow lol, I did get distracted, I'm used to it, but not used to it even still, know what I mean? It's crazy hahaha

  • wow, this was really helpful, for the longest i was tryin to figure out how to do 3 strand twists, i always put twists in my hair so i def. have to try this now

  • Awesome 2015missamerica, I'm glad I could help {:o)

  • u showed it rele well!

  • Thank you caprisunchikrox4eva {:o)

  • Your video was very helpful in demonstrating the technique but could you tell me the comparison 2 strand vs 3 strand twists? Thanks

  • Picturesque, The 3 strand twist can make big waves that 2 strand twist can't, and if you do smaller 3 strand twists it can look as if you have a different (looser) texture to your hair, or tighter if you have looser hair. imo 3 strand twists look better done wet than 2 strand, but 2 strand show length better when done dry, All in all your hair texture and technique will determine how either turns out for you so even what I say may turn out different for you. Wish I had a better answer

  • thnks so much for this tutorial.....after watching this i tried it and did it right.you are a good teacher...

  • Aw, thank you for watching, I'm so happy I could help sonkissedbeutii! {:o)

  • love it im tryin this 2day

  • Thanks and awesome! Hope you like it {:o)

  • Too cute easy tutorial !

  • Thank you soo much Noveechops59 {:o)

  • Finally...lol I've been watching three strand twist vids for the past hour and yours is the one that finally made since to me, so thank you so much for making this.

  • Awesome MissJaeJ! I'm glad I could help and you're very welcome {:o)

  • huh THANK U you made i some much ez'er to get i am going to try it now

  • You're very welcome Shyne5984, Hope you have a good week!

    Aya

  • Love it. How long does it usually take for you to do this?

  • All in all if I'm taking my time and detangled really well first, I think it takes around 40 minutes to and hour. Then I wear it a couple days twisted, then a couple days out. I could probably do it faster though

  • great tutorial gurlie! I so wanna try the 3 strand twists again.! I tried once- didnt work lol x

  • Thank you ssikmoi88, oh no, maybe it will be better next time you try?

  • Between regular two stand twist and 3 strand twist which one do you concider to be a better protective style for you ends?

  • Hi, mishsamuels, i dont consider either a protective style for ends because the ends are exposed in both Hairdos unless you're wearing a smooth cap over them, and I wear mine out and about.

  • Awesome tutorial cant wait to try this!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks Napps83 {:o), How did it turn out?

  • Havent tried it yet. I will let you know though

  • Cool :)

  • Do you have a mac book? or are you using Windows movie maker?

  • ladydipset88, I have a mac desktop computer at the moment, all the videos I have that are large and in HD I used windows movie maker and all of the videos older than that are windows movie maker as well. The camera makes the videos really clear it's an HD camcorder

  • Your video quality is soo clear, what kind of camera are you using?

  • NaturalEden, It's a SR11 Sony HD Camcorder

  • that was a VERY good tutorial, i do lots of styles with my hair, but ive never heard of this "three strand twist" and u did a very good job of demonstrating, i know for sure ill be able to do that on my hair, btw you have VERY nice hair

  • Double thanks you bouyon4dmasiv, I'm glad you enjoyed the video {:o)

  • do you have any suggestions for hair accessories like beads or whatever to spice up natural styles?

  • I like to have a lot of different fun and funky headbands. I was not ever good at adding beads and what not, but I still like sticks and clips too. You can also use flowers {:o)

  • i love your tutorials, its stuff like this that makes going natural so much fun

  • Thank you Oyin26 {:o)

  • Love it! We both had the same reaction when you got to that curl on your hair! GORGEOUS! I'll wait on 3 strands but it looks cute!! (and hard)

  • Lol! Thank you again abrhles01, it's not hard, just go in the same direction with 3 instead of two. You can do it! {:o)

  • Kudos to you. Your hair is so pretty. I just started my journey about 2 months ago. After 20+ years of perms I decided to cut 6 inches of permed hair off and start natural. I still have to get use to it, or should I say use to the looks I get from those who are us to seeing me with permed hair. I tried the 2 strand twist, but the 3 strand seems much nicer. Now I have to try them out.

  • Thank you bladygirl69 and congratulations! Yes, the looks from other's do take a little getting used to. Awesome! I hope you like them {:o)

  • This was a great tutorial on this style. Very clear. Thanks!

  • Thank you and you're welcome {:o)

  • how long has your hair been growing?

  • They hair I have now is a year and 4 months worth, minus 2 inches for trims.

  • OMG I just tried it and it wasn't as hard as it looks. I tell you this is those time that makes me want to cut my locks. I wish I had a little girl for her to rockt this style...

  • Totally!!! It is so much easier than it looks, just keep them going in the same direction. Easy Peasy! You can still do your locs, Maybe you can use this to wet set them wavy or something.

  • This was a clear cut video on the 3 strand twist. I should be able to do it. And your hair is so pretty.

  • Thank you Ms. Tmama {:o)

  • I think your curl pattern is really close to mine. Does your hair shrink like 90% into small coils? That is what mine will do but it curls up like yours did when you were playing with it in this vid.

  • it does shrink a ot, i'm not sure how much though

  • Thanks

  • so you just cutted the tip off!?!? I can't wait to go natural. I hate the perms.

  • Mostly. After about 5 months into it, I trimmed some of the ends off (around july last year) and then in December I got the last few inches of the relaxer cut out. It's all in my oldest videos, Hair status, transition cut and Big chop. You can be natural as soon as you're ready to cut the relaxer off. Some people take longer than others (like me)

  • love the hair. when you went natural did you cut your hair, or waited to it got nappy

  • Thank you ^-^ Addriannie, I waited around 9 months before I cut off the relaxer

  • Thank you PrettyEyedMommy! You don't need hair to practice, grab some yarn ribbon or even three scarves, of three different colors and get at it! If you can do it bigger you can do it smaller. I have faith in you! Thank you again :)

  • that was cute... I neva heard of a 3 strand twist

  • Thank you LaTheQueen! I hadn't either until coming across it the first time on youtube after going natural. Then again a few days ago and I had to try it! Innovativethinkin did it and it came out soo pretty!

  • thats really pretty! I think I will try that

  • Awesome!! Will you do a video? If yo do can't wait to see it!

  • that is too pretty. it is my 1st time seeing 3 strand twist b4. nice:)

  • Thank you MIZZPRETTYY89, I'm glad you like them :)

  • ok thanks!

  • You're welcome Ms. livinmybestlife :)

  • can't believe how frizz free your hair is. so pretty.

  • Thank you cjcaress69 {:o) I think the smoothing helps it become less frizzy.

  • Your very welcome ykmfisher and thank you! I hope this helps you {:o)

  • That looks like it takes some serious coordination. Can't wait to try it once my hair gets longer. Great vid.

  • miscellaneousable, it looks harder than it is, if you can do two strand you can do three, just keep them all going in the same direction. Thank you {:) hope you have a good tuesday! I'll hopefully have my tag video uploaded by then

  • this is really nice! i'm gonna attempt to try these! wish me good luck lol

  • Thanks nkvlcy and Good luck {:o) It's going to turn out great!
