Have you ever heard of 1965 war ? India was ill-equipped with weapons as compared to Pak (Sabre jets, Patton tanks) . and Pak attacked it as a result India lost lot of tank and jets. India took a lesson from there and start improving it defense which it is doing till now. So it is Pak who forced India to be this way. If India do not stay strong , Pak wont let it live peacefully .

No its not true 1958 was a small skirmish for Runn and Kutch. Which was resolved by Britisher where Pak got major chunk of land. Overwhelmed by its victory in Rann and Kutch , Pak thought India is weak it can capture Kashmir , because India was also suffering from defeat from China. Pak launched operation Gibralta which back fired on Pak and resulted in 65 war. South Asia would have been really peaceful if Pak has not started weponization and terrorist training camps.
