Also the Lincoln news paper reported that Bo's house was vandalized after the ISU game. Police reports show the perpetrator was apprehended shortly after. I think you have forgotten that Nebraska's starting running back, Quentin Castille, a monster tailback blessed with speed, was kicked off the team in the summer and hasn't played all season. We can play the "what if" game all day if you want to. Castille would have rammed the ball down ISU's throat and totally changed the game, eliminating most, if not all, of those 8 turnovers. So yeah!

And what do you think would have happened to the score with Nebraska's 8 turnovers if Iowa State would have had their starting QB (Austen Arnuad) and their starting running back (Adam Robinson) in the game? Sends chills down my spine. Here's what the score would have been: Cyclones 44, Huskers 7. I was conservative on that because the Husker defense is good and would have stopped the Cyclone offense on 3 of the 8 turnovers.

Maybe if you done a little research, you would know that Robinson has been fighting a pulled groin all season, and had to be taken out of the Kansas State game in the second/third quarter RIGHT AFTER HE HAD A 35 YARD RUN on which he reinjured himself. Again, being Iowa State the drop off in talent from starting tailback to second string is tremendous. All K-State had to do was focus on the pass. And yet, with those bad stats, we still had a chance to win that K-State game.

Iowa has only played one tough game, the Penn St. game. And they came from ten points down to win that. They haven't blown anybody out and had to block two field goals to beat 1AA UNI. They won on a last second pass against Mich. St. and they were behind against Arkansas State. They are the most OVERRATED team in the rankings and will get their asses beat by Ohio State. Even if they luck out and go unbeaten they won't play for the title. USC will jump them in the polls within 2 weeks. You watch.

Iowa has never won pretty, ever, they always win ugly, that is their style. TCU destroyed BYU on the road. Iowa hasn't played Ohio St yet so you can't calculate them in. Both the Coaches poll and the AP poll have TCU and Boise St ahead of Iowa. One of those polls has Oregon ahead of Iowa. Those 2 polls take s.o.s. and margin of victory into account. The BCS blindly goes by wins and losses. Bottom line-the BCS won't keep an unbeaten team near the bottom or in the middle of their rankings. They reward unbeaten teams by ranking them high. That doesn't mean Iowa is a great team. They are a good team that has gotten very, very lucky. Because they are unbeaten, the BCS ranks them high. There are one and two loss teams that are better than Iowa. But because Iowa has no losses they are ranked higher. Eventually Iowa's luck will run out. They can't keep winning the way they do.

He's got the defense and the kicking game taken care of. He has the offense as his only area that needs attention. Apparently you haven't noticed the dramatic turn around in Lincoln. Pelini wins 9 games his first year with Callahan's leftover players. He just beat Oklahoma. His defense is lights out great. He's recruited young speedy players. He's struggling on offense but that will take time to fix. He's a long bomb and a fumble away from being 8-1. Nebraska is on their way back. A year or two from now and you'll see them in a BCS bowl game. That is not an average coach. He's a pretty good coach.

The long bomb in the VT game and a fumble in the Iowa State game. Texas Tech won by 3 touchdowns over Nebraska but in that game, statistically Nebraska dominated that game as well. The Huskers have outplayed every team this year but mistakes have cost them two of those games.

I was there and it was awesome. I remember where I was the last time ISU won in Lincoln (1977 -- I was 7). ISU went the whole way with a backup QB & a backup running back. Nebraska had some amazingly bad turnovers, but ISU caused some, too. Nebraska fans treated me very well while I was there. They are some good people.
