Actually, eating horse meat is not illegal in the U.S., its illegal to sell the meat. If you own horses, your welcome to slaughter and eat them. And If you think about it horse slaughter is good for the horse industry. If we had horse slaughter in the U.S and it was monitored so it was humane, than people wouldn't be tying horses that didn't sell to posts and driving off. Nor would the horses that are still going be in a overstuffed stock trailer without food or water until the hit mexico.
