I have loved this since I was a little girl playing my first recital....I always wanted Victor to be my piano teacher...he made me love music, and mostly he made me laugh...the ability to be both an artist and a comedian is a gift from God.
Does anyone know of sheet music for the version of the rhapsody that they play? i have the music for the original song, but of course they play it a bit differently and it would be cool to learn with another person :)
@yokehong123 Congratulations, you are the first one to dislike this and comment. But if you don't like and nearly everyone else does like it, shut up and don't say that u don't like. Maybe you don't have taste for good music, and/or good jokes...
I am a huge fan of Victor Borge. Unfortunately, I never had an opportunity to see him live, but always enjoy his performances. Another reason I like him, is that I, too, play piano. :)
@Rebekah88keys I had the opportunity to see him @ his last outdoor concert in Cincinnati: unfortunately I wasn't able to afford the ticket price. He passed away a few months later. A great loss, to both comedy AND serious music.
Victor brings back fond memories of times shared with my dear departed husband who passed away September 25th 2008. We enjoyed his comic piano renditions and punctuation parody many times. I miss both my husband and Borge. I would like to think that my husband is enjoying heavenly concerts with him right now.
Truly, truly funny and amazingly skillful :) An amazing performer.
A PS to all of the "I'm so up myself" dislikers who call themselves "musicians": you may be able to perform a million and one pieces with rigid technical accuracy, but until you can both extract and communicate the sheer joy inherent in music (as Mr Borge does here), you are not worthy of the title "musician". Stop whining and watch: you may learn a thing or two.
@copferthat - I think you hit the nail on the head. Someone has to 'take' offense. It is not given. Nobody can offend you; you have to actively feel offended. If an 'offensive' remark is taken in context, it is often seen to be funny, light, friendly, or whatever you wish it to be. Political correctness removes the place in the discussion that the listener brings and codifies it. It's no longer dialogue, just form.
Absolutely brilliant. Fuck political correctness which was invented by self deprecating no talent idiots without any distance to their lives. By the way, I am Polack. :D
