Indiana Jones Scrolling Map After Effects Tutorial-Part 1

The write-on effect won't work for me. I apply all scaling/position keyframes and everything works just as I want it to.

I add the write-on effect and click on my first target. I click on the brush position stopwatch and move to my next position keyframe and click on the next target and so on and so forth. The line doesn't extend to the next target from the previous one though and after I'm done adding all the keyframes all I get is a small line that grows a tiny bit in the middle of screen.
