Back in those days Blacks performed in white face too-- look up the history of early 19th century Minstrel performances, or classic bodveil. Racism was a part of it, it was not the main reason why it was done. Either way this type of performance is a part of our history and should not be overlooked because it was the was what brought on the Saturday night lives, the Monty python, and other modern verity shows.
If I was black, I'd be insulted. There was no need to put on blackface to lamely imitate the greatest performer of all time. You come nowhere near the energy of his performances.
If anything, this is a cheap imitation of how Andy Kaufman may have done an imitation. Andy brilliantly did the Mighty Mouse routine and everyone thinks they're the next Andy. Gimme a break!
