  • 10p we meet again :/

  • Hahahahaha! Looks like Eggman got his own game before Bowser! XDr

  • This game looks exactly like Kirby's Avalanche.

  • @MarioAnimalCrossing Here's some fun trivia, Kirby's Avalanche and Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine were North America's first glance at the Puyo Puyo series.

If you already knew this, it's fine

  • @RobochaoXX I already knew that, but which game is better?

  • @MarioAnimalCrossing I like Mean Bean Machine way more, it's really just a matter of taste

  • this game is friggen hard

  • since they did sonic generations. they should bring back this game with it in epic 3D. I would play it.

  • @ZloolS Sonic Classics is Gay game for Gay Console.

  • I no pass the level 2 vs the robot of stone

  • BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i used to walk round the playground imitating the wavy armed robot on the surface shouting the sound effects out *whee, yipEE, YIPEEEE*... I never did get the mental helped i evidently needed! :(

  • THE MUSIC IS AUSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy is shocking!

  • this game makes tetris its bitch

  • i beat this game in 25 mins im soo good at it

  • OWND :D. Btw view in 240p NOT 360p

  • really to be honest, my brother has sonic mega collection plus for PS2 and doesn't love to play this he loves to play sonic 3D blast

  • how is 240p better then 360p?

  • i luv dis game i played it 199times

  • Switch to 240p if your video has crap sound and pixelized beyond recognition.

  • @AlexGRFan97

    Thank you haha

  • Way to go, Youtube. Higher quality means lower quality. lolwut

  • This game is bad beyond measure.

  • To be honest, i just bought the Sonic Classics compilation for SEGA, just to play Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. I owned Sonic 1 & 2 already, but it was so cheap. And this game was apart of my childhood so i just wanted to relive it again. Does that make me stupid for buying a compilation just to play the one game, and the fact that i owned both Sonic 1 & 2 games, but still bought it?

  • @Joemamma69000 No, I don't think so. I still have all of my original Sega Genesis games and I still bought the Sonic Classics compilation for the PS2 just because I wanted to be able to play the games on a more reliable system. My Sega Genesis is very picky about how the cartridge has to be inserted in order for it to work, so I bought it for the PS2 to prevent spending 10 - 20 minutes just to get the system to accept the cartridge.

  • @Joemamma69000 DUDE not at all... Sonic 2 was like the very first game i ever played, and i bought that gamecube compilation thingy JUST for sonic 2. but i also found out that sonic spinball was one of the best games i ever played... this game was pretty cool too, but it was like way too hard.... you just hear the computer goin apenuts with his little chains "yeehaw... yeeeehaww!.... YEEHAWWWW! *beepbeep*" and there aint much u can do to stop it lol

  • @Joemamma69000

    hell no get it in

  • Comment removed

  • one of the worst games ever made.

  • @Quakmaor

one of the most not worst game ever made. If you practice all day on it, you kind of get a sense for it. It's really fun because its challenging your brain. I came across this game from looking up one of the artists for burning rangers for sega saturn and this appears to be the only game besides sonic that can be played legally from console classix which dosn't offer saturn, It kind of makes you appreciate the most simple things in life :)

  • low quality

  • What is pingas

  • Pingas the game

  • Take a great game substract story and Charakters, instead put a stupid robot in.

Thats what the american localisators have done...

  • Dr. Robotnik's PINGAS Machine

  • 240Pixel For Win

  • this game was brought to by:PINGAS

  • omg please someone get me this for xbox 360 pleaseee i love this game i promise i will stop quick scoping

  • I nostalgia'd

  • This game pisses me off, still fun though

  • this game is so awesome man.. good times

  • i want this game back. i want my sega back. i want my sega games back.

    i want my life back...

  • now i never had sega Genesis myself but i DO have the Sonic Mega Collection Plus on my PS2 and it has this game....this game went hardcore with the difficulty atleast i think so....i never had any problems with Tetris or any other games like this but here i cant pass the second guy....=(

  • Enough is Enough! That's a thinking we have to have now! That's a slogan of Victory!

Try to reach those people who don't know The Truth, like reality show watchers.

  • i like how this game dosen't animate who is setting the beans from. it can be concluded that the player "us" is setting them free. like in kirby's avalanche, its kirby, and in the original puyo puyo, it's the likeable Arle Nadja.

  • i have this game yes, addicting as hell and the music makes it more addicting

  • WATCH IN 240P IT LOOKS BETTER FOR SOME REASON

  • @Windows7n00b

    it fits the game pixels

  • PINGAS!!!

  • LOVE this music it's just like a drug...

  • I can do better then that

  • Curse Robotnik, Kirby will get u someday Robotnik!

  • Kirby's Avalanche was a rip off of this game and They were both a rip off of tetris lol

  • why did they change this game to puyo puyo?

  • My mum used to love this game lol!

  • I remember this.

    Very addicting.

  • I love playing this game, AOSTH the robots expressions are priceless.

  • I still play this game on my genesis :D. none of my family has been able to beat it though. despite the fact we have been playing it since I was a baby.

  • this game rocks my socks!! soooo awesome :) Used to play it alll the time as a kid :)

  • lol 240p is better than 360p

  • Kirby avalanche is a ripoff of dr robotnik mean bean machine

  • do u plan it out or r they just to easy :)

  • HQ making it blurry is irony

  • To this day, my brother and I still call the combos "yippies" and "yeehaws"

  • @gameadict14 This game came out first.

  • @ZloolS your sega genesis screen is blurry i didn't put HQ

  • @ZloolS How did you learn to make combos so well!? You're really good at this game! :D

  • @ZloolS what about puyo puyo?

  • @gameadict14 It was a re-branding of Puyo Puyo.

  • @gameadict14 no its puyo pop

  • @gameadict14 a clone of a japanese game called puyo puyo, basically exact same thing with different story

  • @gameadict14 Both MBM and Avalance are ports of Puyo Puyo.

  • @gameadict14 This game didn't invent the genre. The type of game is called puyo puyo.

  • @gameadict14 *Puyo puyo*

  • I always wondered what this game was about. Now I know: Sonic Tetris. OMG. How I hate Tetris and wish it was never born. No offence to you, video maker, I would just get that Tetris guy by the throat.

  • this game was just a ripoff of kirby's avalanche

  • @adscomics This game was released in 1993 (or 1994 in Europe). Kirby's Avalanche was released in 1995. So technically this game came first.

  • @ZloolS oh....

  • @ZloolS Let me take this a level further, if I may... Before this became Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine OR Kirby's Avalanche, it was released in Japan, as Puyo Puyo. Recognize the way the beans look? Not to mention the star guy. Look up Puyo Puyo to get the whole story. The ONLY time this ever came out in its purest form was in the arcade. When it came to home consoles, they got edited into the forms you know as Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine & Kirby Avalanche.

  • @BishounenNerd Yes, I am aware of that. I have mentioned it in several of my other comments. I just kept it on the level of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche because most people do not know what Puyo Puyo is and I wanted to avoid the confusion. But yes, I am aware that both of these games are complete rip-offs of Puyo Puyo =P.

  • @ZloolS Alright, but I don't think rip-off is the right word for it, that would imply that Sega and Nintendo did this of their own accord. No, it's just at the time I think the creators of Puyo-Puyo knew their product wouldn't sell to an American audience, but the wanted to localize it. So they went to Sega and Nintendo, had the game edited, and viola.

So, a good word would be... Actually I can't think of a better word to describe what happened right off the bat. Help me along here.

  • @ZloolS Who really cares which one came first? They're both kick ass games lol

  • @ZloolS Technically they ain't rip offs, just sort of the localization of the original Puyo Puyo. In Japan the Genesis version released as "Puyo Puyo", and the Super Nintendo verison as "Super Puyo Puyo", pretty much like a sequel.

  • @ZloolS I thought Puyo Puyo was a Sega game...

  • @adscomics No, Kirby's Avalanche is just a ripoff of this.

  • me and my dad were playing this for over a hour today

  • what came first, this or kirby's avalanche?

  • @Nirvanaguy100 this

  • @TheKeybladeWar

i kan't believe kirby's avalanche ripped this off! well there are alot of games that are similar to this

  • The first time I played this was when I was playing my older cousin in it, I kinda disliked it till mI got the hang of it I really gotta make it to facing robotnik.......

  • When this game first came out I was really good playing this game not so much now.

  • fave video game

  • I've been playing this game a lot lagtely, and even on easy, its fucking hard. i only got to level 6, and i only beat level 3 and 5 by luck every time

  • Christmas 1995. I wake up and my megadrive is gone! "oh no we have been robbed!" I ran down stairs... to find my mam and dad playing this game ALL NIGHT red eyed and trying to defeat robotnick! They never told me off for playing too much Sega again... except when they forgot and all I would have to say is "Blob" (their name for this game) this game is the best =-D

  • @atomicnortherner That's an awesome story :D.

  • @atomicnortherner Epic (apparently quite true) story.

  • @atomicnortherner I see people are arguing what game came came first, all i will say is that to me I think its a well thought out addictive game and to get my mam and dad hooked to a game is as easy as getting toothpaste back in the tube!

  • @atomicnortherner wish my parents were like that one day i woke up and found my dreamcast in the bin because my grades weren't good enough

  • @JustinBiebarSucks holy shit, that's like gamer's castration. dreamcasts aren't easy to come by either. :(

  • Man I just started playing this game again recently on the Sega Genesis Collection for XBOX360. I loved this game when I was a kid, always kept me thinking and mentally active.

It still does the same for me today, it's still so damn frustrating on Hardest difficulty, its either you create a huge combo first or they do, whoever does is the winner basically... it took me so long to beat Dr. Robotnik on Hardest difficulty for the first time.

    Good times, good times... =)

  • this is a sonic version of another sega game: puyo puyo

  • @puyochannel Back then it was a Compile franchise. Nintendo and Sega both owned rights to edit and distribute this game. Which they did.

  • @Nintendavin i amk quite aware of that! i was mention present times

  • I have this game for the PS2 (it's on a disc with some other great Sega games, I think it's called Sonic Mega Collection or something like that), and I'm stuck with Spike.

  • I am so sick of this game being compared to Tetris. For one thing, it's quite a bit more enjoyable. Sure, it's a falling-block style game and your goal is to eliminate said blocks, but those are the only f**king similarities.

  • @TrecoSpossi The original developer of the Puyo Puyo series (Masamitsu Niitani) was inspired by Tetris and Dr. Mario when he decided to create this game.

In a way, this game does resemble Dr. Mario a fair bit more than Tetris. That would be a much more sensible comparison than Tetris IMO.

Also, claiming that this game is more enjoyable is a personal opinion. However, I agree with that opinion. :D

  • Cute sandwich at the end.

  • i loved playing this game

  • it's kirby's avalanche with a dr. robotnicks theme. what a jipp

  • Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine or tetris 2

  • @zckmn You can disable annotations.

  • @zckmn Nice. You mistakenly insult the author due to your own ignorance on how to use the YouTube video player that even my not-so-technologically-sound father can use.

    In Retrospect, You fail.

  • i rock out to this music

  • Just wondering... what in the world doe this have to do with Sonic, or Dr. Robotnic, for that matter?

  • Hey ZlooS, do you still play this game? I still play it's fun! but i need help :(

  • @wolfenstien9000 That's because it's basically the same game. They're both based off of the game Puyo Puyo.

  • anyone notice how the blob things or blocks are the exact same ones form kirbys avalanche

  • spike looks like cheese

  • i was soooo addicted to this game!

  • Wow, I've never seen Youtube screw up HQ mode like that (of *course* the "DO NOT WATCH IN HQ" notice made me immediately try it hehe...)

  • awesome

  • I think this game is like Tetris Attack but you don't get like 3-block combos.

  • My favorite sound: YEEHAW! YEEHAW! YEEHAW! YEEHAW! YEEHAW!

  • @victobob SAME HERE!!! xDDD

  • oh this brings back, very fond, and unfond memories.

  • Reminds me of Dr.Mario, but with addictive music.

  • So. this game must be the Sonic the Hedgehog version of Puyo Puyo.

  • pretty much. Kirbys Avalanche is basically Nintendos version of this game too. I think its funny how some Japanese imports are made with characters North Americans are more familiar with. Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros 2 is another good example.

  • lol u gotta love the music

  • OMG now I know why dr. robotnik seems so familiar to me...

  • SNO PINGAS!

  • oh i had this game on game gear, i damn luv it :D

went to the last stage after months of gaming but failed =(

    nice video <3<3<3

  • say i4got what i said when i left a bad commeent bout ur vids im so sorry!!!!!!!

  • aa cmon you dont even know how to play

  • I didn't even watch the vid but how good are you then big guy?

I gave you a thumbs up....

  • lol arms blinks to fast

  • Arms the badnik is easy!

  • Not sure if I like this or Columns 3 better.

  • It is puyo pop, but they renamed it when it came to North America.

  • Exactly.

  • The same could be said for Panel de Pon. The American version goes by Tetris Attack, Pokemon Puzzle League, or Planet Puzzle League.

  • OMFG ROBOTNIK IN A GAME!!!!

    *dies of epicness*

  • omfg TOO LOUD at the begginning D:

    ...PINGAS!

  • u no where i can download diz game?

  • i have a genesis. but it only has 6 games on it and it runs on batteries.

  • I got this game on the Sega Mega Drive Collection.

It's so addicting and fun :D

  • anyway, online multiplayer anywhere??

I know that gamestop doesn't have multiplayer. Why would anybody pay for their crappy site anyway?

Meanest Bean: If you're ever in CA I'll take you up on the challenge, maybe put money on it for extra fun lol.

  • your really really really really really good with this guy

  • this has the exact gameplay as Puyo puyo except its us. wow. carbuncle is on this too?

  • Owned

  • this a real game

estoy bien perro pa jugarlo jaja

  • love this game its so addicting! hell im playin it right now (:

  • If there are any people out there in the world who still play this game, I am on the look out for some real competition. I've been playing this particular game ever since it came out for the genesis however many years ago that was and remain unbeatable. Not bragging, I know there has to be some more unbeatable players looking for more of a challenge than beating the lame cpu on hardest (lol) over and over. Anybody know where this game can be played online multiplayer??

  • If I lived near you, you would probably be destroyed I devoted long nights into the skill of this game, completed the hardest mode with ease, and have been practicing large combo's.

The biggest combo ive ever done in scenario mode was 11 in a row, and in exercise mode my biggest combo is 12.

I do know how you feel though. ive played this game with my cousin, my friends, my sister and even my girlfriend.

Their skills just don't add up. ;)

  • Big combos mean nothing against other players. For example, if you have a combo of 5 lined up, I can hit you with a combo of 2 and bury your combo before you can pull it off.

When playing against real players you want to get combos out fast so you keep your area empty and you keep theirs full.

  • You can play Genesis games online with Fusion, an emulator.

    Give it a try.

  • It's called KEGA Fusion.

  • fuck emulators. u got to own the real system to actually experience it

  • genesis is rare nowadays, glad i have one :) ten years and still functional

  • mine's controller is built in and the rca cables are built in too. Also, the games are built in O_o

  • what? Oo

  • it also runs on battteries and there is 6 built in games

  • It's not a Genesis. It's a clone.

  • Genesis' aren't rare, you can find them easily online.

  • I'll have to give Fusion a PRRROMOTION!

  • Oh yeah, the Mean Beans: BEST COMPETITIVE PUZZLER EVER. Unlike Puyo Puyo 2, you cant just randomly stack your pieces and hope. If you're lazy in your opening you get punished hard. After creating a huge combo, you can get skrewed by just ONE garbage. Frustrating for you, but you know your opponent is loving it. This is the best puzzle game ever. I love tetris and Super Puzzle Fighter, but they don't even begin to compare.

BTW Puyo Puyo tsu however similar sucks, all luck IMO.

    Beans #1

  • good

  • wow, is this like an updated version cuz the graphics look a lot better than the classic version of the game

  • No, just played on an emulator.

    Shame, shame, shame...
