It's just like Khmer Surin, Khmer Sisaket, and "khmer buriram." There the three Northeastern Thailand "isan" but south province of that part... I'm Thai-Isan(Mainly Laos People) but we call u guys Isan Thy-Meaning South(Thy) and it's just khmer living in those provice... with there own accent... i'm part Surin...

Khmer live in Roi-et at "Payak and Suvannaphum District" there are just a little of khmer race's peoples and there can speak Lao too ,many children can speak only Lao/Thai.

it's not much different during KHmerSurin ,KHmerBuriram and KhmerSisaket we can speak understand all together , but some words are different between the village to village. Our voice same as KhmerOddarmeanchey.

Some Khmer words are replaced by Thai word or the most common word of the region. Does not mean they are not Khmer. As as Khmer Krom people usually mix some Khmer with Vietnamese words and you mix your Thai or Khmer with English.

Ethnically, I believe they are. The language they speak, I believe, is a dialect of Khmer.

Just as how "Thai Issan" are ethnically Lao and speak Lao, but still is different from standard Lao.

But as Nationals, they're Thai. Just as I am an American or as you are a Canadian.
