Oh please dearie, come closer, my eyes are not what they once was.
Oh Bub, you remind me of when I was a child, now I am old and dying, not as strong as I ought too, Promise me that you will look after your sister Bob and dont be sad all your life as i have been, reach the hundreds..
I really enjoyed this video.. I think it went surprisingly well with the music. Very good use of what's around you... Really goes to show what creative editing and a good eye can do!
No em, its just Dave. he plays all the instruments himself. there is another project called "I'm The Manager" which is also Firth solo. The drums and synths in all Locust Toybox songs are from his drum machine/Logic Pro (formerly FL Studio) as well as some recorded sounds from a camcorder.
I know of his musical work, yeh. but he also has a band with Christian and others called the Grape Digging Sharon Fruits and this reminded me of something they would have performed. Also, I quite enjoy I'm The Manager, especially 14,000 Wires.
It seems more people David Firth's version of this song than the original. I personally love both, even though I knew AFX long before. Great video, looking foreward to more of your uploads.
Good times 2006, summers seemed to be warmer back then...

Just for the record its number 9 for me. Great adaptation of the song.
shoutintothevoid 3 years ago
Comes down about halfway between the theme from "Zorba the Greek" and a 50s song, "Sittin' here la la waitin' for my ya ya.
Pretty good. I faved it just to see where it leads.

It's number 10, not 9
theulv 3 years ago
this tune has been number 9 every time i came across it
SrcThefirst 3 years ago
that's strange. Has always been number 10 for me.
theulv 3 years ago
Ok lol i can explain this: one of the MFM tracks is a Fingerbib demo, so people always get the other MFM tracks' numbers mixed up by 1.
Nosdormu 2 years ago
I see, but it's not really a demo, it's rather a longer version
theulv 2 years ago
this is my fave melody from mars. and its less mellancholly than the electronic version

Why is that bad? That is awesome. Those are the coolest lyrics I have heard in any song ever.
pointyhatgnome 4 years ago
The lyrics come from the Aphex Twin song "Milkman" from the "Girl Boy" EP
yankeefuckoff 4 years ago
im playing five of these at once it sounds really weird but awesome
myco578 4 years ago
Yeah I don't get why Firth marked it as a Locust Toybox song when it was obviously just him and the other Grape Diggers.

very nice...!
And i love both 'bands'...
Locust Toybox is always making songs like that...then when other guy does, they make an acoustic version! haha,fantastic... :)

I can't decide which version I like more >.< Ty for posting this :)
Amateurzombie 5 years ago
Yes, I've noticed that as well.
I enjoy both, and have been getting heavily into Aphex Twin as of late. Both are good, but I enjoy the concept more on this.

Eh, personally I like the original more. I find the beeping noises more pleasureful and less generic.
pointyhatgnome 4 years ago
Very nice. The video is a great fit to the song. Simple, progressing, circular, foreign but familiar.
Well done.
