  • Thanks for the video. As a left handed shooter and wanting to get a bullpup, this really helps out. I'm really thinking that the Mossberg 500 would be the best bet simply because you have more control over where the shell goes since you have to load the rounds in. Thanks for the video and happy shooting!

  • @ILPrepper You're welcome and happy shooting to you too.

  • Good job! Thanks for taking brass for the team!

  • @LosBerkos You're welcome!

  • Maybe ranger green would be more suited than the MC.

  • So basically , as long as you keep your face back enough away from the ejection port you should be able to shoot a bullpup rifle left-handed? Does anyone else see a problem with this? One of the biggest issue with bullpups is their ergonomics. Try performing an emergency reload under pressure with one sometime.

  • @VolDep45 Some bullpups are no harder to reload than an AK might be (FS2000.) Some are plain horrendous (FAMAS.) But, then again, some conventional rifles are terrible to reload too. Does that mean you shouldn't practice? As far as I know, the above is an emergency technique, and it's probably worth practicing.

  • I'd love to see you hold it properly up in the left shoulder and then fire it

  • @anteracmacash Well, the objective was to make a less-than-ideal weapon work. If you want to tear up your face for a marginal increase in performance, that's your own business.

  • @John234pwns accuracy and actually hitting your target at longer distances is a big freakin' increase in performance

  • @anteracmacash You can still make accurate hits, just not as fast. After all, if sights and hits on target weren't a priority the guy wouldn't be shooting from the shoulder, period.

  • @John234pwns you do realise that this is not a sporting gun ??

  • @anteracmacash I wasn't aware the video had just one gun. Here's the fact; if you're serious about defensive shooting and when confronted with the prospect of shooting a bullpup left handed, and all you can do is bitch and whine, you're already setting yourself to have some pretty shitty chances in a gunfight.

  • @John234pwns a foward ejection bullpup will increase your chances any day of the year ;)

  • @anteracmacash Of course. But our friends who use bullpups *have* to practice this sort of thing because they can't exactly choose rifles. Britain uses the L85, France the FAMAS and the Aussies the AUG, all rifles with opposite hand ejection problems.

  • @John234pwns google : "Kel-Tec RFB" and "FN F2000"

  • @anteracmacash I have. They're very nice rifles. But not everyone can use them.

  • @John234pwns (-_-)

  • Some of the problem - or solution in your case - is the stance. I shoot leftie on rifle, and I also like to arrange my upper body so that its almost parallel with the gun. On a bench, like you, I tend to keep my upper basically perpendicular to the rifle - so the ejection is less of an issue (although I still don't like the action noise near my face).

Your video clearly shows that in a pinch, anyone can use it. But as a leftie, I wouldn't buy a conventional bullpup, only forward eject, pls

  • Well, you don't have the ejection 'problem' (or rather discomfort) with the FN F2000 as shell casing are 'extracted' up front of the rifle. The IWI Tar-21 Tavor's ejection port can be changed left or right as well, IIRC. So, zhe problem is mainly one for the 'old' generation bullpup.

  • @Briggs1700 Your comment misses the point of the video.

It's not which new fangled cool guy gun can I buy?

It's not, what parts swap can I do when I'm not taking fire?

The point is: If you're stuck with a conventional bullpup and taking close in fire where you must more quickly and return fire OR clearing a building with left and right corners.

Can you do all that's necessary to survive, move, and shoot accurately with a conventional bullpup?

    Yes you can.

  • @Frankdude72 : Ofcourse you can...

  • cant u change the side of where the casing gets ejected or is that only for the AUG steyr ?

  • @melvings It's helpful if the comments made are coherent sentences.

But as best I can decipher, you're asking about a limited hardware-focused solution.

This video is about skills-based solutions to work around hardware limitations.

  • on the bullpup weapons isnt there a bolt u just change so that the casing ejected eject on the left hand side ! sheeeeeeeeeeeesh @Frankdude72

  • @melvings Yes sure there's a couple models where you can do that if you dissassemble the gun.

But you can't do that midway into CQB room clearing or dynamic reactive movement.

Again, why search for a gear-based solution when you can bypass the problem with skills?

  • cus im left handed and my army uses the steyr and im also left eye dominant! :) @Frankdude72

  • @melvings Thank you for serving your country.

So yes, your unit armourer should be able to get a left handed bolt if you don't have one already.

But the point of this vid was, even if you have the wrong bolt, you can still shoot fine w/ the Steyr.

BTW, I'm left eye dominant too.

Wear eye pro and a bandana over your mouth and nose and you'll be fine from either shoulder.

  • brass buster for steyr aug/msar stg 556 FTW!

  • Damn dude, you were taking more shots to the face than a Valley Girl in need of cash.

  • Bless your chin sir for taking the abuse...

  • You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din...

  • thank you I have always wanted a bullpup and being a lefty thought I shouldn't. Now I see its not impossible. thanx

  • the things you do just for us thanks!

  • There's no can't about it.

If you find a can't, it's not a wall, just something you need to learn a way around.

    Perfect.

  • im left handed when shooting but im right eye dominant so im training my self to shoot right. it aint fun getting hit with skin melting brass so i created a catch net to go over the shell ejector just enough to stop the shell flinging toward me and so i can still cycle the bolt

  • Fast forward at 8:47 guys.

Plate shooting at is an obnoxious noise.

  • @BigBosley....and it's dangerous with a rifle round at that distance.

  • Really excellent video.

  • interesting....its good to see that while not an optimum firing position....bullpup shooting from the south paw is possible!

  • good vid.....
