I remember this! I had it memorized! I was just looking at an article with Candice and wondered if I could find this commercial in youtube! Ahh, the memories of growing up in Pasadena, local commercials like this, Woodsie owl, walee whistle and the ice cream man! The ice cream man in my neighborhood played Helter Skelter!
I vividly remember this commercial. It didn't hurt having Candice Bergen featured. KTTV was usually the channel that aired this commerical during Bugs and Friends.
I can not emphasize how much I came to love classical music (Mozart Symphony 40) as well as classical and some modern art from this commercial.
Television can be a great medium, but money and numbers will almost always outweigh quality.
Yeah, this was kind of like those cartoons that featured classical music or storylines from the classics. For whatever reason, this one was quite memorable (the words flowed well with the music, I guess), though it kind of scared me away from such museums, making them seem adult-oriented and too high brow for my taste.
Wow! My sister and I have been talking about this commercial for years..we remembered it verbatim! For some reason they used to show this during cartoons...I guess they knew it was a great way for kids to get familiarized with the art world. It worked...I never forgot the artists she mentions. Thank you SO much for posting this. Wow, its from 76?? I would have guessed maybe 78. I never thought I'd see it again. Thanks also to Candace. :)
WOW!!! My sister and I have been reciting this commercial vebatim for years. For some reason, they used to show it during cartoons...and now I see why. It was a great way to get kids acquainted with art. It worked- I never forgot the names of the artists she names. Thank you so much for posting...wow, is it from 76?? I would have guessed 78. Seems I'm pretty old, lol. Thank you SO much for posting this. I never thought I would see it again. And thank you, Candace. :)

Where's the K-Tel commercial that usually followed this?!?
Always remembered this commercial from when I was a kid watching cartoons...
Thank you Candice Bergen for introducing me to fine art and classical music...

I was just listening to this particular Mozart piece in my car and this commercial popped-up.
(Norton Simon Museum) aired this jillions of times when I was a kid and it stuck.
It was (one) of the things that got me interested in classical music and fine art.
