According to an eyewitness, the organisation had failed to flatten and press the sandfloor before the winning round.
The sand was worn away on the spot where the horse slipped on the pastic cover that shifted over the already slippery floor of the hall below that.

That was a nasty slip and totally unexpected. Hope all the horses and people were OK.
