  • Same fight that I just watched...

  • just imagine what gaetz could of been, kocur and probie two of the top fighters at the , but then again and look what happen to craig coxe big fight fight never heard of him again

  • give credit to gaetz, joey k. could punch.many big name fighters of the nhl backed away from exchanging blows with him in the eighties and mid nineties.

  • holy fuck mad respect for gaetz chin there holy shit. kocur hit him with the bomb

  • link gaetz is a bum working up north

  • @bruizer1100 He works, dude. He also took some bombs from one of the top three punchers in NHL history without tying him up or getting knocked down. Have some fucking respect.

  • kocur at this point was not 220lbs like later. he was listed at 195lbs and could throw like a truck. what if kocur became a roid user....my god.

  • I have the dave richter fight and it was joeys 3rd fight in n.h.l. He was a rookie. I saw kocur at a speedway gas station in baycity. He was a nice guy, gave me an autograph and let me call my wife for him to say hi. My rotweiler was named kocur after him and i have always been a fan. Also,i shook hands with him and it was the right hand called the jack hammer. It was a mess for so many fights.

  • JOEY "RIGHT HAND" KOCUR!

  • Ok, remember when I used to watch Kocur didnt see lots of his fights so not much respect. After seeing his fights dude was one tough tough player. Much respect to Kocur fans.

  • nice uppercuts

  • Gaetz is soooo much taller and stronger built, but in the end knuckle-boy Kocur wore him out completely. He's dizzy as he skates away :)

  • Have you ever watched National Geo? Where two hippos-bulls- square off? There's always a Sitting Bull watching over his harem. And then there's the young bull who comes wandering 'long from the outside looking to take a piece. The Link got shown out of the watering hole by 26. And more from 2-6, ANOTHER right right at the end as to say: "STAY AWAY"

  • Gaetz had the potential to set his own mark in the NHL in his era, but he pissed it away. He had no discipline. Kocur did. I remember when he KO'd Canucks tough guy Shawn Antoski and ended his career. Too bad, we were robbed of a good one.

  • Two of the toughest ever.

    I second LEGENDS.

  • I'll bet Gaetz would have gone down if the linesmen hadn't stepped in. Gaetz looked pretty worn out coming off the ice.

  • To this day i still dont know how gaetz stayed on his feet, joey could knock a wall down.

  • cuz the missing link isnt human.......

link took some sickening punches. infact he has been for the 20+ years he has been fighting in pro hockey.

his give a fuck factor is off the dial.

    LEGEND

  • 2 legends of the game (Y)

  • colorado has the worst homers, and as for kocur, that right hand was just fucking deadly

  • @oglala I wonder if he even has any individual bones in that hand, or if it's all one solid bone by the end of his career.

  • yeah right, doug murrary pummeled Rypien.

  • Kocur could have been a professional boxer. He knew how to fight

  • he could atleast be a power trainer obviously he knows something the world doesnt because thoughs punches are fucking brutal i wonder how he trained because it worked well

  • he trained at kronk gym in detroit. its one of the more famous boxing gyms there is. i.e. thomas hearns.

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but Gaetz was an olympic boxer. I don't think Kocur could have been a boxer. He could stand toe to toe hold a jersey and punch your lights out, but how many boxers wear hockey jersey's?

  • Joey Kocur and Bob Probert both trained at the gym in Detroit where Tommy "The Hit Man" Hearns trained. Joe is a boxer too... Not to the degree that an olympic boxer would be, but if that were his profession, he would have done well.

  • @PA28140 he would of done well unless his 1st boxing opponent was dave richter or herb raglan

  • @TonyTwistFan kocur was only a rookie when he lost to a prime dave richter, 3 years later the result would have been opposite. herb raglan, hmm no explanation for that one. But after that huge upset on March 27, 1989, Kocur went 4 entire seasons (60 fights) UNDEFEATED, finally he lost to Bob McGill in September 1993.

  • I cringe watching Kocur throw bombs!

  • Mickey is a joke? You are a joke. He's called games in the D for a long time, played some too for a while.

  • Mickey isnt as bad of a homer as are other announcers, say the Predators, or Columbus to name a couple. He's well liked by the Wings fans and yes Mickey was a huge fan of Probie

  • tampa and boston got the worst homers..

  • Mickey Redmond is a joke here in the Detroit area. He's the biggest homer of all time. I remember when Probert got wasted by Domi in the first fight, Redmond called it a draw. He's a moron.

  • Mick is awesome, he was an awesome player to. Domi never wasted Probert. Domi lost the good majority.

  • Gaetz was just begging for a left...

  • The first time they fought it was a draw. Gaetz was a tough guy. If he hadn't had that head injury he would have been one of the best ever. Redmond with his "look out!" was pretty funny.

  • Another win for Kocur

  • i remember going to the kwings the next week . gaetz got sent back down to the minors and had a b ig shiner.

  • he should consider himself lucky.

  • Gaetz should have retired after this fight - circa 1990?

  • Link did a great job...... of absorbing.

  • oh the tandem of dave strader and mickey redmond.....that takes me back

  • best thing you can say here is gaetz has a good chin....
