Check out a video "Cadillac Escalade vs Mini Cooper S" The Caddy has 403hp and the Mini has 170hp and they get almost the same 0-60, 1/4 mile time. and the mini still gets 30+mpg. so the point is you don't need a big engine with big power to go fast. you can get something lighter w/ less powerful engine and still go just as fast but at much less cost, and with better mpg, handling etc
