Well go tell them.. that`s what they called this music... and they were dancing to the music.. the same group played at our house and that`s also what they called it....PERICO RIPIAO.. I also have some palo videos... san Miguel... but then again people say that it`s not palo.. anyway some people seem to know more than others... The only thing is I loved it and had a damn good time.. whether it was palo perico or what have you not..
THIS IS NOTTTTT PERICO RIPIAO! Its Palo with an accordian so I suppose you can confuse it for some awkward Perico Ripiao but there people are dancing to the drums.... Its PALO... A perico ripiao is Juan Luis Guerra-Farolito
Ese tipo de musica no es perico ripiao. El tipo de musica le dicen palos. lo tocan para veneral los santos catolicos como San Miguels, y San Marcos, la musica es de origen dominico-Haitiano.
@drgangster809n That's because Brazilians are Latino but they are not necesarily hispanic. Hispanic refers generally to people who's main cultural attributes are contributed from Spain.
@spidlenexor i think brazilians ARE latinos....but not hispanic cuz they dont speak spanish..i even heard of portuguese calling themselves latinos and from the portuguese come the brazilians...
@spidlenexor - What is a Latino then? Essentially, whomever's culture has descent from the people of the Roman-Latin empire. (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, the french, and even Romanian) When this empire broke up, and Latin was not strictly enforced to be the official language, these people started speaking vulgar latin, which eventually evolved into the different latin derived languages and people that we have today... So, Brazilians are latino...
@spidlenexor - They eat arroz com feijoada (rice and black beans)... Lechon... And if you speak spanish, but listen very closely to a person speaking portuguese, I guarantee you, if you're not playing stupid, that you will be able to understand at least 60 - 75% of the conversation.
This is not "Merengue" tipico this is called "Mangulina", in fact Mangulina predates Merengue by a few decades. you can hear the difference of the "Tambora" or beat drum, in mangulina it sounds different because the African influence is more pronounced.
loooollll do some research about litin music before you say this int like african music. f you did your research you'd know that many latino descendents came from africa and brought thier music with them....african music has a MAJOR influence in ALL latin music. urgh ignorant people

@SexyMorenoPaTi Exactly. Brazilians and Haitians are Latino. But then it can include Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana and other nations.
