lol at how on rock band, unlike GH, the drums are the only loud instrument, beyond singing, i don't count singing, its all about the user.. but only the drums in RB make sound, those GH controllers are loud as fuck!

For the next rock band they should incorporate a solo thing for the guitar like how the drums get their overdrive power. Except when you solo on the guitar for the song the game detects if the notes ur playing are in the key of the song or not. and then you should be able to record the solo and post it on an online shredboard to show off ur skills lmao. God. Harmonix if you pull that off I want 1% of the profits.

@inmateno12897 well harmonix made guitar hero 1-2(and the rock the 80's tracklist for 2) and then sold GH name to activision, so most of the songs they "stole" from GH is 2 and below.. most of them.. the rest i cannot vouch for.. :D (the best way to beat the competition is to create it then fuck it up..)

LoL Everyone ranting about OMG I FC"ED THAT SONG... To Play Dragon Force or Megadeth or Mettalica you atleast need 6years of wear and tear practice. What im trying to say that try FC'ing the EXACT same song you FC'ed on a plastic guitar (with the PRO guitar installation) and you'll see. Your going to play In Bloom by Nirvana or Smells like Teen spirit (arent difficulte song, but really good songs)

Everybody Read This : A Profissional Guitar Player Need +/- 10 Years to play an Real Expert Guitar, for example, to play Eruption or Kiss or Iron Maiden. So whats the point to buy a guitar if you never played guitar before?

RB3 and GH are games to have some fun... If you want to play musics in real guitars just practice in a real guitar and be just like the other guitar players from all over the world. So dont spend money buying a guitar that you´ll rarelly will use in your life. :)

@cwade729 Yeah, it's not standard 1/8th notes. It's like one lane that has 1/8th notes but as long as you keep hitting it, it'll actually not break combo. The only thing I don't know is whether or not it will increase score if you hit exactly 1/8th notes or if you get more points for hitting faster or if it just doesn't matter.

@KRFan88 I know u were asking @toymasheenSH more than u were asking me, but I know the answer 2 that question since this question was asked before & answered by John Drake of Harmonix. They cannot. This is due to the lag issue w/ vocals online. Think about it this way, when you hear your online friends sing along with you, notice that even though they are singing exactly when the music is hitting the right areas for them that it sounds to u like they are about 1.5 secs delayed. Can't fix this.

@KRFan88 BTW, good point about Karaoke Rev having Duets. I am not an engineer so I am not sure why there is a problem in RB with the vocal lag. But I have a feeling some of that might because there's more than just vocals that they have to sync. Maybe KR has it because they only factor two. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow (last day). But no promises as they've already said it's not happening due to vocal lag.

so how confusing is it to play pro drums? from the pictures i've seen, even though the cymbals are circle notes, it seems like it'd be confusing trying to visually decipher betewen circles/rectangles when the song's getting intense etc.

personally think they shoulda went with 7 columns (hell they gave keyboard like what, 12-15 columns on screen?) but yeah, it just looks hard to read.

@azuritereaction I think it'll be fairly easy to get used to. That was my VERY first time playing on cymbals, even though I have a cymbal set at home. And it did take time getting used to it. A lot of the time I see color and I equate "hit color tom". But towards the end I gort used to seeing color + shape = tom or cymbal. The hard part was when it went thru fast section(s), then I would revert back to thinking color only. This just takes time getting used to. But I don't think it would be hard

@azuritereaction Maybe because I am a drummer I found it fairly easy. It is not hard to to see when it is coming. The thing is breaking what you have trained your brain to for the last 3 years. Sometimes although you know it should be a cymbal, your brain says toms. Keyboards has the same 5 lanes as everything else except in pro mode where it shows 18 keys however it is still confined in the same space. RB3 cannot have 7 lanes because of the real estate already on the screen.

How do you tell the difference in cymbals on drums and the toms? The notes look the same, is there a difference if you look closer or do you just have to guess what each of them are supposed to be?

@kylepolansky You can tell because the cymbal notes are rounded to look like cymbals where the toms are all the regular rectangular gems.

@Aeth666 That's how I normally play. It's not as hard as it seems. I am pretty good and softening my foot before I hit the trigger. I get shin splints, so I can't just leave my foot down and raise my toe up and down. That's why I have to do it that way.
