I remember watching this one live because we didn't have school for whatever reason. I didn't think there was any chance he could have lived through that. Glad I was wrong.

Still one of, if not THE worst crash I've seen in any form of racing to this day.

He's going to be in terrible pain for the rest of his life after a crash like that... like my neighbor. He went over the rail of a highway and he's in terrible pain now, and he was only going about 60... imagine how much pain this guy is in and how many pills and medication it takes to keep him comfortable. Yikes! I don't think it would be worth living after taking that much damage to your body... think about how much pain you'd be in every second for the rest of your natural life...

I'm guessing you don't follow racing very much. The cars have tons of safety features that street cars don't have. To this day, Geoff Bodine is perfectly healthy and is still racing. He also presently races bobsleds and builds them for the US olympic team. At that time, he was hurt, but it wasn't anything serious.
