My son just came back from a trip to Russia and he wanted to recreate some of the dishes he enjoyed. He made plov for us and it was delicious! I appreciate you posting your videos - it helps those of us learning to cook new dishes know what they should look like and how to make traditional foods. Thank you!
I have just found out that Pakistanis use ludicrous amounts of oil to cook. i have a p. lodger and my cooker and floor are now covered in grease and the house smells like a greasy spoon. I bottle of oil used in 2 days - most of it on my kitchen surfaces.
Well this is vegetable oil so its healthier then the cooking oil used for frying. Plus ur not going to eat all this by urself its for multiple people. And you can make it with less oil but that depends on the individuals. Some people like it heavier which is more flavorful. some ppl use very little oil to make it healthier.
Please watch the new Movie that came out by Rabbi Mizrachi. It is a must see. You can access it on Torahanytime(.) com. Go to Rabbi Mizrachi- and all the way down, second to last video titled " 12/16/08 Amazing New Movie IN ENGLISH"
- It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, please do not miss out.
Plov = O'sh is Uzbek(People living in Uzbekistan. Population about 26 million. Take place in centre of Central Asia. Capital Tashkent.)national food. There are several types of cooking it in different parts of the country. The best plov(o'sh) is Fergana Valley(Golden Valley) one's. Especially, plov cooked in Andijan (included towns: Andijan, Asaka, Marhamat, etc.) famous.
You can add some raisins, chick-peas, whoel garlic, quince or turnip.
I fry chunks of turnip and quince, take them off, fry onion until dark brown. + diced lamb.later + carrots, later+whole carlic, fried turnip and quince, whole pepper and add some water and make zirawk. Later add rice.
now i understand why my uzbekan cook, use a lot of oil , great food,

Plov (Andijan): Lamb and Lamb fat, Brown rice(devzira), carrots, onions, couple hot pepper, cumin seeds(zira).
I can talk a lot about plov but, it is better taste ones than heard about it 100 times.
