It is too soon to tell and start making assumptions. Don't you think the families would have realized it a long time ago if what you claim to know is infact true? To be honest, I am not bias and am hoping I am wrong but it just doesn't make any sense how the children were supposedly a "tool" for a hoax and what Qaddafi would gain from this, because he now has a worse relationship with the West, and this could harm his regime.

If you accept the presumption that the infection existed before the nurses were in the hospital and that they are innocent you will understand. You can research the reports of the major investigators in this case including Dr. Luke Montagnier, the founder of the HIV.

I have been researching and the publishers themselves, even Luke Montagnier, have some bias into this. The investigations aren't like some break-throughs, like discovering life on another planet. I have come to realize there are no reliable sources when it comes to ones that are solely based on this incident. Who am I to tell you that they are guilty and who are you to tell me they are innocent? I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Libyans are upset, Bulgarians are happy they were exonerated. No respect to your values or whatever. But, plain and simple, that's all I see between the two countries. I don't want to be more Libyan than Libyans themselves, but I have not seen one family member of the children or even one Libyan (besides that nutjob Qaddafi) who believes they are innocent and that this whole thing was a "hoax."

Tareq you know just as well as I do that those families were a good tool in the hands of the regime. They received a financial compensation of over $ 1 million per head but one should be plain stupid to believe that their pain and tragedy can be soothed.

As to the tortures, the nurses were asked to take off their crosses throw them and stomp on them. They were asked many times to convert to Islam and they were promised that the tortures would stop in return. They were systematically tortured with electric cables attached to their genitals. One of the women is partially paralyzed as a result. None of them converted. Dr. Ashraf slept for about a year on his knees with his hands tied behind his back.

The Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) clearly forbids any type of torture. Of course none of them converted! It is absurd to force someone convert to Islam, because it is done voluntarily, like the 68,000 people in the US and Europe who do convert without torture.

Even before that, Libya suffered from genocide from the Facist Italian occupation, where 55% of the population were kept in concentration camps, women raped, and many other atrocities. Libya would have had at least 20 million people today if it hadn't been for the dictator Mussolini who slaughtered them. Then your neighbors (Bosnians) suffered from the second worst atrocity in Europe. You have no right to profile Muslims of anything.

Tareq, Libya is a third world country not only in material aspect but morally and ethically. You cannot compare. Also, the GDP per capita does not reflect the reality. If Libya spends on military equipment it also reflects the GDP. America realized a growth of over 3% up until now but in fact people are getting poorer. That's because of the war!!!
