i put over 100 pcs of this alarm. Just is PERFECT. Easy programming and installing, reliable, common batteries which can find anyware. Im sure you don't know that if you press 1and 3 or 4 and 6 or 7 and 9 together for 3 seconds, is the panic alarm. Also you can easily increase the singnal of pir or DC if you solder a 10cm wire on its aerial, without any affect. I know everything about this alarm
Hi there, thanks for the great review, we got this alarm ourselves today and have almost finished installing it, my question if you can help me, is do the lights under the blue plastic on the siren flash when the alarm is armed like the ADT ones, if so how do we set this as ours isn't flashing, please reply, thanks
yos9636 set the alarm for away. Press the remote or fob while activating a sensor and it blocks the signal... Got a a fob tried it and it didn't do what you said..the friedland sl5 works on the new 868mhz frequency. it has a built in dialler so it can also ring you if the alarm goes off. So does the Yale..I have to say that mine has been spot on, has gone off when it should have and never let me down. Im not saying that there are not better alarms but for its price and convenience its v good!
Any other 433.92 MHz device such as a car or gate fob can be used to bypass the alarm... Eg set the alarm for away. Press the remote or fob while activating a sensor and it blocks the signal...Yale tell you not to have a pir pointing at a door that has a contact on it because if the two activate at the same time they cancel each other out! Ia had a Yale alarm..stay away from the DIY alarms. I'd recommend going to a wholesaler and buying a HKC 1070 wired / wireless alarm
Hi yos9636, I dont think there is much in it to be fair. The only major difference is the range from what I can see. What I can tell you is that the Yale is very simple to set up and does exactly what I expected of it. Ive had mine about 3 months and I test it once a week and its never let me down. Check out the online reviews with the Yale they are very good.
hi codezero i need your advise urgently. I just cant make my mind up between the yale hsa 6400 and the freidland sl5 which is there premier alarm. please could you advise me on both cons and pros.
@yos9636 the friedland sl5 works on the new 868mhz frequency. it has a built in dialler so it can also ring you if the alarm goes off. the wireless sensors have hard wired terminals to you can wire sensors to them, this is handy if you have a large bay window. The sl5 has a solar siren with comfort LEDS THAT FLASH every 5 seconds and also has a solar panel built in to keep the siren charged so you never have to climb up and change the batteries.the sire can work up to 28 days in total darkness.
@yos9636 the yale alarm has a built in dialler. you cant wire sensors into the wireless ones.it has a bit of a flimsy mounting bracket. it works on 433.92 mhz. for the same price you could go to wescos if your in Britain or Ireland and by a hkc secure wave alarm.

It rang me the other day telling me it was going off and within seconds my mum rang to say she had forgot the code number so it works great. The only thing im not looking forward to is changing all the batteries in two years but thats a small price to pay.....
Hey Codezero, just wanted to say thank you for the review, moving to new house soon and was looking around for an alarm, im trying to decide between an adt monitored one or one of these... its nice to see someone 'normal' by that i mean a customer/user doing a review rather than someone trying to sell it to you! i think i am going to go for this one though adt seems abit like a rip off, oh and i might set the calling thing to 999 so it calls police for me lol! Cheers again!
In my case its through walls. That was my only worry when I bought the thing. However it works fine even with the distance and walls its got to get through. Hope that helps.
I'm thinking of getting one of these to protect my property, when you say 30m do you mean Clear view or through walls? As I'm thinking of putting on a sensor in my back garage which is about 20m away, but would have to pass through walls.
