I saw Tommy live in London in 1980. He sang this song and I fell in love with it. He was lit up in a single shaft of light on a black stage and I will never forget the awe in the audience when he sang it. I bought his Live at the Festival album at the show and to my disappointment it was not on the album. So pleased to find it here.

No - you are thinking of Nigel Lythgoe. He slightly resembles Tommy Steele and interestingly enough Nigel was a member of "The Young Generation" who appeared with Tommy in the 70's.

I have always loved Tommy, the only fan letter I ever wrote I sent to him. Amazingly, he wrote back to me, I totally cherish his note. How great that a crush lasted so long, I am in my late 50's and still in love with him.
