@MyPinkRainbow Japan actually is really encouraging people to have more kids. They even pay you (though not much) to do so. Japan has the oldest population in the world with one of the lowest birthrates. Japan is a democratic first-world nation like most any other. They don't force anyone to have abortions and there is no child limit.
My friend was in a very similar situation not more than a few months ago. He moved to Japan, became an English teacher, met somebody who he fell in love with, and then had to make the tough decision. "Do I stay here with so and so, or do I bring them back with me to such and such place?" In the end, he got married and came back here with his wife. It was hard on her to move away from her family, but that was the choice they made. It's easier to be a foreigner in the US than in Japan. Good luck.
I hear you! I am a Japanese who has been living in US for a long long time. Being a foreingner gives us the same type of issues wherever we live, language, cultural difference, race, career, family and most of all, how to be accepted by the society because we are the animals of society. Most of Japanese go back to Japan after four years or so as they realize it is too difficult for them, but someon like me stay for a long time. It really depends.
I love your attitude! You should definitely do what you want to do (whatever that ends up being) rather than doing something for your parents, or your boyfriend. Live life for yourself and not for other people, and all that. I think a bakery sounds like a great idea, though when it comes down to it it's about what makes you happy.
I plan to move to Japan when I'm older, but I'm only 16 right now and I've got to get through 2 years of college (I'm British) before I can think of going anywhere.
You could always stay living and Japan, and if you miss you parents so can try and visit your family back in Florida every chance you get... In the end it's your decision. However, I wish you the best of luck ^^ I hope you get to open your own bakery
Love the attitude you have in this video! I think you have a great potential on becoming one of the few foreigners who could actually make it in Japan.
You came to Japan from South Florida, you love cooking, and you want to open a bakery. Except for having a boyfriend and ... girl parts, we're basically the same person!
I worked at a Japanese bakery for a while. It was awesome.
you should let Masaaki live in the U.S a while. you get some more family time and whatever... he gets to see where you are coming from...you can open a bakery any time and a job like that...the later the better...
still too young to just commit to 'living in Japan'... you are young enough to have it all... don't have it all so fast though... Been in Japan 18 years and I gave my wife 2 years in Australia... you're going to need shit loads of money though... start saving.
I hope you have your dream come true and open your bakery or swim in your swimming pool~~ \(^o^)/ I think whatever you choose, it should be what you want to do. Good Luck!
On a random topic, your eyes are very big!! No wonder the men in Japan are lusting after you!!
I SO understand what you're going through! It happened to me many times to be in a situation like this, and let me tell you what I've figured out:
There is no wrong answer. Your destiny has been set. The choice you make will be the right one. What you need to do is follow your heart. Forget what your parents or boyfriend say. Just sit down, and listen to your heart, so what feels right. If that doesn't work, toss a coin. Destiny's choice cannot be changed.
i like listening to your outloud thoughts :P

i feel bad for you that your being pressured into something you might not want to do (law school), you only have one life so follow your dream.
If you dont try you will never know!
