she can miss if she move not at the right time towards the fly. She walks to get close to the fly slowly like a cat after detecting it with her eyesight. I suppose you have seen how kittens and cats come to a string or a ball to catch to play . Move their front legs starring the object and when its too close they jump. That s exactly what a jumping spider does on walls or flat surfaces. On walls its difficult but it happened in front of my eyes leaving me breathless and fascinated.

I have seen quite enough times a jumper catching fly on the wall. No don't think that can jump higher than the position it has if the fly is higher(on the wall) can't do that... instead she goes to the right or left of the position the fly has and a bit higher and jumps.... she leaves a thread and catch the fly in the air and the thread holds her from falling. Fantastic cause when this happens she is held by her thread moving like a pendulum with the fly on her jaws...amazing!
