  • Catching up is where it is :)

  • I can see you've been a busy boy on my channel :)

  • Not much else to do on a slow Monday night in a parking lot :)

  • great that you are able to get actively involved in this :)

now if only I could sees some actual footage from the event... ahh what's this?! as if by magic Beatles Day parts 1, 2 and 3 posted on this very channel! ;)

  • Glad to be of service Steve.

Luckiily you left your catching up 'till today, as the 3rd part was only posted earlier :)

  • That really sunds like a great event! Music and charity is always a good combination :) Looking forward to your footage!

  • I agree, it's a great combination. Raising money & having fun at the same kind. Can't be bad can it? :)

  • Sounds like a great event. I look forward to soe footage and I hope number 11 happens!

  • I hope it happens as well. I really enjoy being involved with the event.

the first video should be posted tomorrow :)

  • I saw "A Hard Day's Night" the other day...

I am still wondering how I feel about it....

  • I like 'A Hard Days Night'. Not very keen on 'Help' though.

I certainly made better music than films :)

  • There has to be an 11th Beatle's Day as I've only just found out about it and it sounds fantastic. I so hope it continues - would love to attend. What a great way to support a charity!

Sounds like you had an awesome day :-)

  • I do think it's fame is starting to spread beyond the local area. it's such a well organised event & the music is good quality too.

As i've said elsewhere. I am quietly confident that it will hapen again next year. We'll see :)

  • I would love to go to something like this. I will always love the Beatles. That's great that there can be a celebration of the Beatles and raise money for a great cause in the process.

  • It is a great combination. Music, The Beatles & raising money for a good cause.

Hopefully the video footage will give you a flavour of the event :)

  • The Beatles were a truly wonderous band, loved by almost everyone I know and their music will be as appreciated in the future as much as Mozart. It's great that all the youngsters got such a kick from it too. Well done to you and everyone involved Andy. That's a heck of a lot of money raised and for such a great cause too. Looking forward, as always to the videos. Is it really a year ago since the last one? Time flies, it really does. Look after your tootsies mate.

  • Considering they split up nearly 40 years ago. I think they've already proved that their music will live on.

it still seema as popular as ever, across the generations.

Hopefully, the first video will be posted tomorrow :)

  • Sounds like a great concept. Surprised it hasn't expanded to other places - and even more surprising that they are considering shutting it down given your success.

  • I guess you need somebody to organise it & have the musicians ready & willing to get involved as well.

I agree, it's a great concept. There's such a wealth of great songs to choose from.

There are reasons for the possible demise of the event. But, i'm quietly confident that it will be back next year :)

  • Good for you, Andy.

I like the way you appreciate your life.

  • Thanks, as always :)

  • Being on your feet for 13 hours will make everything hurt the next day!

Sounds as though the day was great, are we gonna get to see video from it?

  • Of course, age doesn't help either. As my wife was quick to point out!

Yes, there will be videos. Just as soon as i can get around to editing it all :)

  • Sounds like a great day was had by all.

I wonder if the guy who arranges it says there won't be another is simply a cry for people to help a little next time so not all the burden will be on him...

  • I can honestly say that is not the case.

There is always a certain feeling about how long these events can go on for & reaching a decade of Beatles Day's was a big milestone. I think that was partky the reason for saying that.

it takes a hell of a lot of effort to put this event on & i know he's got a good team helping out.

As it happens, i'm arranging another charity event with him for June of this year. What have i let myself in for? :)

  • I am glad I wasn't right.

I think you let yourself into a world of good :-)

Good luck with the event you are arranging.

  • Thanks Ran.

More will be revealed shortly :)

  • hi andy wot a blinding day i really enjoyed watching and playing sunday , im in eclipse and we was buzzing after our performance , the crowd was so warming to us , if there s another one we would love to do it again , anyway take a look at our video of us playing and let me no wot u think , it s on mu videos as beatles day 10 eclipse , cheers Nigel from eclipse

  • As you may know. I spent most of my day up on the main stage, So, i missed your performance in the Sussex Rooms. Although i was told it was very good. I'll have to check out your video.

What i did see of downstairs looked great though. It was packed down there wasn't it? The two stage approach seems to work really well.

I'm glad you enjoyed your day & if there is another one, i'll put your name forward :)

  • Love the Beatles music a lot.

Its really great to hear that people would go to the event even with the recession, which I think is brillant.

I got to go to one of these charity events one day.

  • It was good to see so many people there. I think that shows just how popular the event has become :)

  • Some day if I ever get to the UK, I need to coordinate being there for Beatles Day. That sounds absolutely amazing! I wish we had something like that here. I DID see a pretty amazing Pink Floyd tribute band the other night, but I digress! Lucky for me, you'll be sending me that shirt, which is the next best thing to being there! :)

  • You'd love it Gary.

I don't know if you remember? But, last year, as part of the evening, they played the whole of Sgt Pepper. This year it was side 2 of Abbey Road!.

The night ended with a big singalong version of Hey Jude. I was on stage singing along & filming at the time. The footage is a little chaotic, but gives a good sense of the occasion.

Thanks for reminding me about the T.Shirt. I must get that in the post + the Beatles coaster :)

  • A Beatles coaster too? Now I'm waiting for TWO sets of U2 concert tickets in the mail, AND a Beatles package! Here comes the sun!! :)

  • I bought the Beatles coaster a while agao. I thought you knew about that? Oh well.

I'll post a photo of it on TwitPic shortly.

I could only afford 1 U2 gig. Lucky you :)

  • My U2 concerts now mean staying in Chicago for at least Saturday night! Did you get General admission seats? Those were the $50 tickets. They're standing only, but there's a chance we can get into the heart, right up on stage. It's worth the price of the Chicago weekend for that! I'll be vlogging about that one! :)

  • No, i went for seating. I did debate the standing tickets. But it's a long day & i'm not getting any younger! ;)

We'll have to compare sets etc afterwards. I have Elbow supporting, which i'm really looking fiorward to as well. Is that right you have Snow Patrol? That's great if you do :)

  • Yeah...Snow Patrol on the Saturday night show for sure. I'm really excited to see them too. I love their two most recent albums. I think their song "Chasing Cars" is one of the best songs to come out this decade. It will be a great show!

  • Thanks. Hopefully you'll enjoy the videos when they're posted.

I do have a few from previous years still posted on YT. Just search my videos for 'Beatles Day' :)

  • I'm so fascinated that it was called "Beatles Day", not only was it for a tremendously important cause but as you mentioned, seeing all the young kids relate other generations of music is beautiful. A world without music cannot be imagined. So much talent there you have described.

Much money was raised, what a success! May your camera not pass away on you. Of course, speaking as a lover of camcorders, it's a great opportunity for you to buy an 80's vintage model ;)

  • That's one of the things i like about the event. The kids seem to love it as much as us oldies. Young bands want to play there too, which is really good news. Bands have to be turned down every year, because too many want to play.

That's the reason we have 2 stages, To cope with the demand!

The Beatles music transcends the generations, more than any other band, imho.

I'm hoping my camera will be ok. I'm not sure my back can cope with an 80's model :)

  • It truly is a wonderful thing. Looking forward to that footage!

LOL @ your comment about the 80's camera! (Don't forget the leaking capacitors on the motherboard that smell very foul - hard to explain the smell at gatherings!)

  • all events like that are good.

  • We do have a lot of really good charity events in this area, which is great :)

  • I think it is amazing how the Beatles, Elvis, (my fave) Queen have staying power. My 8 year old little brother loves the Beatles. It's great!! I would have loved to been there for that!

  • I think the sheer diversity of The Beatles music helps with their continued poplularity.

Different people tend to like different periods in their musical history :)

  • Sounds like it was a great success. I think it says a lot about the popularity of the event when it's breaking records at a time when people are watching what they spend.

  • That's what we were thinking yesterday.

If we're honest, i think we were all worried the event might not do so well this year. Because of the credit crunch. But, as i said, i think people just wanted to have a good time & hear some quality music too :)

  • So Beatle's Day was it? How was the weather? Did you have Good Day Sunshine? A Hard Day's Night?

Yesterday was it? Sorry about your legs. Maybe you need...Help.

  • LOL I think my legs need Help at the moment!

And yes it was a good day sunshine & most definitelty a hard days night. Hopefully it's now all Getting Better ;)

  • Good job man I sounds great. :)

  • Thanks & it is all great fun & for a very good cause as well :)

  • Yes it is. :)

  • Sounds like a fantastic event!

  • It's a great event & seems to get more popular every year :)

  • What a cool thing to do! :-)

  • I do consider myself fortunate to be involved in such a great event :)

  • What a great idea: Beatles Day! and not for the benefit of Mr Kite either!

  • And lastly, without jumping through a hogshead of real fire!

  • Only if he happens to suufer from cancer & i hope that's not the case :)
