  • Baautiful song, I watched Towering Inferno in the late 80's, I was 8 or 9 Years old, what a great movie, one of my faves until this day & besides I become a rock fan, the song have a special place for mi, because for there's no generes or time for the good music.

  • "We may never love like this again," "The morning after," "We've only just begun," Sing" Aren't these songs all about coming to accept the bourgeois suburban life that we all seem to lead? Doesn't that just make you sad?

  • @danke1217

absolutely agree with you....this song captured the drama and the tragedy....put you in that space totally.

  • I've always loved this song since I was a little kid. Captured the ambience so well of the movie.....in fact it made the feeling or memories of the movie so much better.

  • Like the movie

    sad ending!

  • Just watched the movie after not having seen it since it came out and never realized Maureen Mcgovern had sung the this song. Nice song and the arrangement is an exact copy of "The Morning After" from "The Poseidon Adventure". Harpsichord in the choruses and the layered vocals at the end. Always loved this singer. Amazing voice.

  • Loved this movie. Remember seeing it in a jam-packed downtown theater in Manila, I believe it was Ideal Theater during my high school days. The Theater is now long gone so were the rest of 10 or so other big theaters located along this stretch of commercial area. Being a fan of Robert Wagner, I also felt bad because he did not survive the inferno. Terrific film that made my heart ran down the clock from start to finish. Thanks Hollywood!

  • i love that movie "THE TOWERING INFERNO" with two American Greats Paul Newman & Steve McQueen (1972)

  • Loved this song ever since I heard it in Towering Inferno. The song fit the scene so well!!!

  • Magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh yeah this song was released in 1975, Sydney Australia, a big movie and great song,

  • well said... danke1217

  • 2 people don't like fooky wiring!

  • I like Maureen, but "Morning After" this is not! They were going for a repeat. Same singer, same song writing team, another Irwin Allen 70s disaster movie. Not terrible, but not memorable. Plus, she does some kind of over-elocution thing. Just watched the film. She looked weird with the long blonde hair instead of the more familiar short red hair.

  • @axecalibore i was 13 yrs. old, radio broadcast this song tonight. The female DJ said it is 1975 yrs.

  • @axecalibore I disagree, this movie was Irwin Allens masterpiece and the greatest disaster movie ever made...it was nomanated for 8 oscars including Best Picture of the year and it won 3 and won for best song,it was a great movie!

  • yess! amazing fcking song!!

  • 頑張れ、日本!

    頑張れ、東北!

  • two songs that talk about disasters

  • did she get out of the burning building ok?

  • @azida100

nope, her boyfriend died and she died soon after

  • no - that was susan flannery who died with boyfriend. the fate of maureen mcgovern is left unknown

  • @azida100

Oh crap. I suppose it's best I watched it a second time :/

  • @azida100 It always bothered my - we never saw Maureen again. Musta been outta there on the first elevator down.

  • chamberlain's character got his lol...

  • The 70's, like the 2000-2010 decade had lots of disaster movies...something about the political climates.

  • @MarChiville shake and bake...

  • @MarChiville the whole decade was a disaster...

  • How can anyone listen to this song and not love Maureen McGovern?!

  • @Irishfanism I was a primary student when I see this.

  • @Irishfanism: I totally agree with you! She won my heart over with "The Morning After" and I have met her several times and that voice is as beautiful as her spirit. They just don't make love songs like they used to.

(Both were written and backed by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn.) Disaster Queen? Just QUEEN in my book. Ric Fuchs

  • Her voice is gorgous..she is one of a kind. I've been a fan since 1972. thanks you maureen for adding such beauty to this world!

  • what other song did Maureen Mcgovern sing?

  • Comment removed

  • This song We May Never Love Like This Again fits to a T for Maureen McGovern's Quality of Voice.

  • best pic..oscar award 1975 together with God father part ii towering inforno..i was 16 that time...lucky to watch them in theater

  • @jzamaus I agree. They don't make movies with actors like these anymore. I'm 49 and saw the movie as a 14 year old. RIP Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Bill Holden, Fred Astaire and whoever else I forgot to mention.

  • nice song.. i was able to watched the film when i was in college at the national university.. movie house is trembling ads if we are part of the chaos... ronald

  • This is IT !!!

  • Awesome song for an awesome movie. Newman and McQueen still rule!

  • I have to echo your reaction but even younger -- makes me feel 16 again. WOW.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG... MAKE ME FEEL IN MY 20'S AGAIN!!!

  • I love this song and the voice of the singer

  • Didn't fall down quickly; didn't even have steal frame. No planes too.Did they use thermite then like in the twin towers for the movie?

  • Didn't fall down; didn't even have steal frame. No planes too.

  • i was 3 yrs old when this movie came out, i never had a chance to watch the whole movies but all my favorite actors were on it, Fred Astaire, Paul Newman and Steve McQueen. hope to watch it someday.

  • @holiday07 you can try to look it online. =) am sure they have it. Try Amazon or half.com. That's what I do when I want to see a classic movie. =)

  • Is she an expert in singing the main themes for disaster films ???

    And Morning After ...

  • yo guys ,first heard this song in early 80s....very nice ....like it....owwwww!!

  • i love this she should work for Disney

  • linda essa canção, chega a doer quando me lembro das cenas do filme, um dos melhores que assisti, só lamento não ter conseguido baixar essa música no

pc, mas aleu o vídeo, abs a todos

  • What was Maureen McGoverns karma to sing theme songs for disaster movies?

  • @MPL029 working with Joel Hirschorn and Al Kasha, look them up, they wrote this and 'The Morning After'.

  • I watched the movie at the age of seven. The theme song is so haunting.

  • i luv it

  • maureen mcgovern seem to be the queen of disaster movie love themes.

  • @esther0919 yes, great movie and theme song, hardly found nowadays. Superb.

  • @esther0919 yes, agreed.

  • TO ALLL MYY FRENDS !!!!!!!

  • La mejor canción en la mejor película que he visto, con toda una constelación de estrellas. Le tengo un especial cariño a esta película, favorita de mi padre y hermano ya fallecidos. Con todo mi amor les dedico esta canción dondequiera que estén.

  • way back when,...deejays would have called this "the "love" (?) Theme from The Towering Inferno when they'd announce it on the radio. Right from the instrumentals at the very beginning of the song and MG's over the top delivery you get a sense of drama and foreboding; something like an eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die kind of feeling... You just don't hear memorable movie music like this anymore.Too bad, so sad!

  • @danke1217 I so agree .....We just don't hear memorable movie music like this anymore.

  • @danke1217 It is 1974 , I was P. 6.

  • it'a a sad movie, but a wonderful song

  • a very very good disaster movie with a very good moral lesson! Awesomw song!

  • I just graduated from High School when this song was a big hit.

  • I've never been one for blonds but I wouldn't have kicked Steve McQueen out of bed!

  • one of the best movies of all time..the song definately deserved an oscar!!!

  • Great song from a great movie! Check out a video I made: PRANKSTERS IN THE PARK...the one with 2 kids in the picture...it's about a prank 2 kids play on an unsuspecting lady...

  • ようやく見つけました。good

  • classic song and great memories of a good movie

  • Absolutely - what it was like to see this at the movies the first time! I'll never forget it.

  • LOL......LOL

  • This song never gets close to THE MORNING AFTER, their other song.

  • I find it quite funny that the Oscar winning song from this classic disaster flick, The Towering Inferno, was called WE MAY NEVER LOVE LIKE THIS AGAIN.

I was very lucky years ago to see The Sick & Twisted Performers of San Francisco do a live version of The Towering Inferno and it was hilarious!

  • I love this movie and the song very much, thanks for posting. Thank you!!!!

  • One of the most interesting movie, that I know from my child years. And this song is also amazing !! Thanks for posting it !!!

  • i cnt never forget that movie Towering Inferno, that was in my elementary year

  • i love the voice of maureen macgovern, very enchanting. all of her songs are classic.I love them all. Where she is now?

  • It's very cliche, but you cannot help but be moved by it. Bring back Maureen one more time for a nostalgic disaster theme song movie.

  • The first time I heard this song was while I was watching the movie "Towering Inferno" in the cinema-a big place with very good sound-effect. I stell remember how touching I was when I heard it.

  • I love this song, but I can't help picturing Andrea Martin singing in the SCTV take-off in the "Top of the Reactor" restaurant while the Towering Inferno blazes! HA!

  • LOL!! now that would be a funny to see

  • Fabulous voice Maureen.

  • i love this song,i love this movie, and i love this artist maureen mc govern...
