whos playing with the most recently released map pack? uh i find it difficult to believe how really good it truly is! its much too overpriced however and so i just downloaded it at mw2forfreeYinfo (replace Y with . ) the other day. i am planning to use the money i ended up saving for a different mouse
I was thinking of getting this game. Is it anything like AoE in a sense that there is a level builder. I did some looking around and couldnt find anything.
This game is far far better then Blitzkrieg. There is no more that stupid game-concept with warehouses. A like higher range of tanks and artillery, less accuracy, although. Graphics are totally changed. Now, you can really feel WW2 and Russian front. Historical accuracy, corresponding units and buildings, new realistic tactics & micromanagement and missions are variable. Music is good, too. And the most important thing: infantry isn't crap anymore. Balance is achieved, finally.
Stalin's reign was FAR from defineing Communism. Stalin's reign defined the cult of personality in Communism. Stalin's reign defined the autocratic dictatorship. Saddam Hussein, far from being a communist, took many cues from Stalin. The thinkers who gave birth to idea of Communism, defined it, but very few, if any, reigns of Communist leaders have been able to remain faithful to the original ideas.
That was such a bloody battle, I can't imagine what it was like. The life expentency was about 6 weeks in the beginning, then by the end dropped down to 1 week.
looks nice but the its cover makes the commies to the heroes and the good guys! the germans killed jews, the russians killed those who tired to bring USSR to a maore free country, in the end...both sides were bad guys!
But when you think about it, they were one of the 'good guys' during the war. Despite what they did they were part of the Allied force, and in Stalingrad, they were fighting for a city, which if captured, could literally spell the end of their country.
Yes they were communists ruled by a terrible dictator but in the trenches of Stalingrad, the last thing on their minds was Stalin.
i don't think there were really any good guys in neither of the world wars. nazis were just the worst of them. between the commies and the u.s. i don't know who was worse.
What Stalingrad was vital to the USSR war effort idoit.
Stalingrad was the last major city in defense of the mass oil reserves behind it also if the Nazis took Stalingrad then. There would be no way to transport the raw materials needed to create guns. So the Soviets would loose.
Think about communism before you call them bad guys. Now how long has captialism been around then estimate the number of people killed to establish it. And that is nothing compared to what the Soviets did.
@coopsnin the entire industrial complex of the USSR was moved east of the Urals.Stalingrad just like Leingrad was in namesake only,a symbol. The key to winning the war in the USSR was Moscow, all lines of transport & communications spread from there like a web.The German High Command did in fact knew this, but Hitler was in charge and Stalingrad was the 1st major defeat, unlike Kohlm which was fully cut off and supplied by the Luftwaffe by airdrops only and broke the Russian siege.
If you believe that war has anything to do with good guys and bad guys, you should go fight in one. Of the estimated 13 million casualties suffered by the Germans, (of which roughly 7 million were wounded), 10 million were on the Eastern Front alone. So even if the soviets were the "bad guys", the "good guys" could never have achieved what HAD to be done.
communists aren't neccesarily bad guys, its just our point of view. Just as we who live in democratic countries think democracy is a free country those who live in communist countries think communism is a free country. Don't get me wrong I love democracy, I just think we shouldn't brand it as "evil" although many communist countries today are not well off,.
Do you realize how absolutely stupid of a comment that is? Does that mean that a democrat that kills 20 million of their own people is a good guy because they're a democrat. How bout a liberal, republican, socialist, fascist?
No FFS! I didnt mean it that way! Jesus christ idiot all I said was that even if SOME think the communists are good guys (I dont, but I dont consider them "bad guys" EITHER) then Stalin was a BAD GUY anyway.
Political affiliation has absolutely nothing to do with war.
"War is death, disease, destruction, disablement, and a sheer waste of men and women and raw materials. The only people that profit from war are the men who make the munitions and the guns. Nobody wins wars, there's losers on all sides".
Sudden Strike? Anyone?

LordCraigus, no...
They fought for the city of stalingrad just becuse it had the name Stalin in it, thats the only reason more or less...
Hitler just wanted it for the sake of taking stalins "Own" little city..
Stalin defended it for the same reason..
And no, the communists were the bad guys...
