  • What is this Raagaa - May be the same raagaa is used by Hemanthakumar in Bees sal baad (60) sad song on Waheeda--Arani Apparao-Hyderabad-A.P.

  • Here is a literal translation of this doleful song by Sahir Ludhianvi: I am fed up with this struggle in life; I may not spurn this world with a dejected heart. Today, I have broken all liens with hope; There won't any word of complaint with anyone anymore. If we happen to meet again in life by chance; I will know my condition from your helplessness. O, God in the heavens, just a glance of favour; How long I'll have to suffer this injustice in silence. (posted from Lahore)
  • Out of four only two couplets of this song are the same in the song by Rafi in film Pyaasa and picturized on Guru Dutt. Two other couplets are different. They are:

Hum ghamzada hain laain kahan se khushi ke geet

Dain ge wohi jo paain ge iss zindagi se hum.

Ubhrain ge aik bar abhi dil ke walwlay

Mana ke dub gaye hain gham-e-zindagi se hum

    (posted from Lahore)

  • this ghazal is from SAHIRs diwan TALKHIYAn,a long one.it was sung by rafi saab also in PYASA.a very sensitive&fine urdu poet SAHIR LUDHIYANVI aka ABDUL HAYEE.

  • I am lost to words to appreciate this creation by all concerned especially Sahir.

  • after 25years I found this song. Same words in Pyasa, sang by Guruduttji.

  • Lo aaj humne tod diya....rishta-e-umid....

  • @shrikhasgiwale It indeed is unique that the same ghazal has been used in two different films.

  • One of the finest composition of Sahir Ludhyanvi. This has been further decorated by Asha and N. dutta

  • just plain inquisitiveness. How could the same lyrics could be used by two separate cinemas within a gap of a year or two. Both the versions are fantastic no doubt. Thanks a million.

  • One of the finest poetry of Sahir Ludhiyanavi

  • this is the best film ghazal and extreme beautifully sung by Asha. perhaps lyricst is sahir ludhinavi (i donot remember this moment ).

to all readers -- i am on the look of one Asha geet "" puvaiyya dhere baho""appreciate to upload if anybody having

    thank you mr. ajay

  • Can anyone upload the video clip of this beautiful song from "Light house"?There is one more Ashaji's gem in this film..........that is..."kis jagah jaaye.....kisako dikhalye..

jakhm e dil apana".I will be greatful if the video clippings for both these songs are uploaded.M.D. N.Datta's best compostions.

  • Ajay. Thank you. My father looked for this ghazal for 24 years. Finally, one day in 1984 I surprised him when my friend brought me from Dehli, the latest Asha Bhosle record at that time, Mellow Gold ECLP 5939. Later in 1989 I had that record signed by Ashaji.

  • when i listen this song & more songs of like this,

then some times, i feel asha ji better singer than lata ji .

  • Kya kalam hai Sahirjee ka. Bahut khub, Bahut khub.............

  • Ajayuv: You have a TREASURE with you, of this song and some others that I have come across on your website, PRESERVE it.

    Ranjit

  • The Lyric is by Sahir Ludhyanvi, Right

  • Thanks a million! This movie has another equally good ghazal by Asha "Kis jegah jaayen kisko dikh laayen zakhm-e-dil apna".There is a nice Asha+Rafi duet "Tu kala main gori" and a happy Asha solo "Nainon se naina laage wo kya kahenge aage, main jaan gayi re". Please try to upload these gems.

  • Thanks for this exquisite song. Everytime I searched for this song on youtube, I only came up with the other song with similar words by Rafi filmed on Guru Dutt. Do you have Asha Bhosle's other songs from this film?
