I used to live in London and my grandparents had a cottage in Port Stanley. We spent a lot of time there. I have many fond memories. Port has changed so much since I was a kid. The cottage, across from the beach, is now gone and there are condos along the beach. We used to go fishing for perch. A few things look the same in your video, but so much has changed. I walked from London to Port Stanley in 1980. It took 9 hours.
Well, this vid was OK...you didn't show half the village, especially the actual "downtown" and the lift bridge (which is a major tourist attraction) . You also didn't go to main beach where all the tourists go. I live here in Port and if you are doing a tour , please make sure you are getting all the cool spots!!!!!
Damn!! I remember this town...all my Canadian relatives were from St Thomas, but my great grandfather and grandmother were from Port Stanley...I remember the draw bridge and the beach, but its been nearly 35 years since I've been there...my great grandfather was a fisherman and had his own boat...but heck, that goes back to the 50's and 60's.
