It's not anyone's right to be in the girl scouts. It's the person responsible for admitting or rejecting applicants who has the right to accept or reject. Why can't liberals understand this concept. IT's like saying that gays have the "right" to be married. Well, no, actually the church has the right to accept or decline.

Second of all, I agree with everything you said. Transgendered children do not identify as their birth sex and go out of their way to live as their psychological gender. For this reason, they should be treated as such.

Transgender boys often have XXY chromosomes, and just because the genitalia on her body developed into a penis does not make her male. You need to learn, to research, before you jump out there and make some kind of absolute statement.
@billiejo333 Sexual definition during fetal development is not that clearly defined and babies being born with sexually ambiguous genitalia is actually not that uncommon. In one case i can remember a perfectly healthy happy teenage girl had no idea that she was genetically male until she had to have blood test, Some have been born with ovaries instead of testes and scrotum's that still retain most of the characteristics of labia, despite being genetically male. What did god want them to be?

Some people with gender indentity issues suffer from real biological causes others from psychological causes and they shouldnt be treated the same (Ie. thinking u were born the wrong skin color is a different issue to actually being albino, one needs therapy the other may need medical treatment)

You can change your sex, but you can't change your gender because nobody has one. Gender was originally used to describe nouns that were masculine, feminine, indeterminate, or neutered. Examples of each of these respectively: bull, cow, animal, book.

Especially since there is direct distinction between the sex of the brain and the sex of the body. The use of the word gender to describe the brain's 'sex' helps to make that distinction clear. Now, instead of having to clarify the two things, we can say "Their gender is female, even though their sex is currently male."

Saying somebody's gender is female says they think/act like a female. But what is a female? A person with a vagina or someone that thinks/acts as a female? In the former, a person with a vagina can think they're male (term is a contradiction). The latter is circular. The term, in it's modern usage, is an atrocity to language and logic.

Those that don't really feel a direct connection to either gender or sex and sometimes fluctuate between both and neither commonly go by the term genderqueer. Just as some churches would gladly marry homosexual couples, if it were legal in every state. Some wouldn't, some would. If marriage is a religious rite, it should be the church, not the government, who decides whether or not to grant legal rights, such as shared health insurance and the right to see one's loved one in a dire situation, to happy and long-lasting couples.

Second of all, I agree with everything you said. Transgendered children do not identify as their birth sex and go out of their way to live as their psychological gender. For this reason, they should be treated as such.
In short, transgendered girls ARE girls, and those stuck in the old ways of thinking need to get with the program and realize that these things are now socially accepted.

@billiejo333 Sexual definition during fetal development is not that clearly defined and babies being born with sexually ambiguous genitalia is actually not that uncommon. In one case i can remember a perfectly healthy happy teenage girl had no idea that she was genetically male until she had to have blood test, Some have been born with ovaries instead of testes and scrotum's that still retain most of the characteristics of labia, despite being genetically male. What did god want them to be?

Specialized brain scans show clearly visible differences in areas that develop before birth and never change, meaning that they're not affected by experiences. We generally don't do brain surgery to change how people "feel" or think(lobotomy) anymore because it's extremely harmful and immoral. @EveDaDingo Sorry about the misunderstanding. Usually I get flak from people for stating my opinion on the matter. Nevertheless, I still feel that this word "gender" has been twisted. You can change your sex, but you can't change your gender because nobody has one. Gender was originally used to describe nouns that were masculine, feminine, indeterminate, or neutered. Examples of each of these respectively: bull, cow, animal, book.

@seinfan9 Totally agree, the original meaning has been twisted pretty far. However, we have to take into account the common usage, not the prior usage. Especially since there is direct distinction between the sex of the brain and the sex of the body. The use of the word gender to describe the brain's 'sex' helps to make that distinction clear. Now, instead of having to clarify the two things, we can say "Their gender is female, even though their sex is currently male."

@EveDaDingo The term has become a contradiction and it begs the question. While it espouses that the sex is of no concern, at the same time it makes use of a sex. Saying somebody's gender is female says they think/act like a female. But what is a female? A person with a vagina or someone that thinks/acts as a female? In the former, a person with a vagina can think they're male (term is a contradiction). The latter is circular. The term, in it's modern usage, is an atrocity to language and logic.

@seinfan9 Honestly gender is what you make of it. I identify my gender as female, commonly associated with the wide spectrum of the female sex. Those that don't really feel a direct connection to either gender or sex and sometimes fluctuate between both and neither commonly go by the term genderqueer. I think you're digging way too far into it to build an issue where there really isn't any.

there is no such thing as gender identity. gender is an imputed attribute of masculine or feminine or neutral. sex is the intrinsic quality of being male or female. if u can self identify as a sex, then it is meaningless. because something that can mean anything, actually means nothing. otherwise i'm going to start self identifying as a female so i can use the ladies shower at the gym! don't u dare discriminate against me!!
