Wow! I remember that special! It was an HBO presentation. Milton Berle and Jack Lemmon performed a variant of Assistant's Revenge. And, the Trisected Lady illusion was performed on a brunette spokesmodel named Jan Speck. Whom I believe later appeared on Chuck Barris' "New Treasure Hunt," prior to marrying one of the Oak Ridge Boys.
Indeed, it was. It aired on HBO, which used to have more variety at that time. And, if memory serves, Jack Lemmon and Milton Berle performed a unique version of Assistant's Revenge on the same special.
Ball was 70 when she did this TV special. Semi-retired, she would do TV spots when playing backgammon and cards got boring. A rich woman who did like shopping with girlfriends or chatting over lunch. Work was her life.
Just think of what she could do if more thought was given to her costume and there was a little more time to prepare. She'd rival the top illusionists!
wow this was very cool thanks for posting

@eightiesfan That's a horrible thing to say. Lucy was deeply in love with Gary. I get sick of people bagging him!
