No... this is wrong. They made it all major on the last chord. It's supposed to end MINOR. Fuck this is terrible. The whole reason it was so beautiful is because of the top major combo with the bottom in MINOR. I hear it changed to major in the bass very clearly. Ugh. Why? VSQ + this song was supposed to make my heart feel so good. I'm so disappointed.
@MCRsuperVAMP The reason I don't like the song has nothing to do with the instrumentation. I love string instruments- I play viola. I imagined the song to strings would in fact be awesome but they changed some of the fundamental chords that made it so good, particularly when played in a slow acoustic version. Piano versions are okay too, but the best would be a strings version where the chords aren't altered.

99% of the people listening to this song are going to have ZERO clue as to wtf you're talking about; they're just going to enjoy the song. You're so pedantic.
Even other musicians won't listen to cover songs and think "oh, damn, the 4th measure should have been minor right to the 12th measure...and the whole first half of the song is supposed to be in 9/8, NOT 12/8!!! Blasphemy!!!"
@jimmyshand Haha you somewhat exaggerated my comment. In the right context my music theory knowledge works. That minor-major key playing is the heart of the song and is the entire reason why the song is so amazing, intricately sad and yet wistful and accepting. Secondly, major and minor are very simple concepts that I'm sure more people know of. If you've been in band, choir, or orchestra at your local school district through high school, yeah you'd know what I'm talking about. (a general "you", not You specifically).
The reason people think I'm musically ignorant is because of my controversial opinions.
