  • awwwwesome

  • I don't wanne know, what's under the cloud going on!

  • 0:08

  • @ Dareyoutobeyourself ---LOL ya But thats a wierd looking storm with one little CG bolt that was probably our neighborhood again, but i was in Sc at the time gettting our own that day

  • Classic Cb! Nice shot.

  • wow amazing !

  • Can an airliner fly over Cumulonimbus clouds?

  • @ejdf870 Nope. If they did, sucked right in, broken into pieces or stalled & crash.

  • @ejdf870 Yes, we can if the tops are low enough to allow it. No, planes won't get 'sucked in' flying over them. We prefer to deviate around them, but if not an option, and we can clear the tops with room to spare, we'll do it with no problems.

  • @bluemanor Thanks, though I read that some of these monsters can rise as high as 65,000 ft.

  • were you coming from LAX by any chance?

  • beautiful example of an Isolated Cb. What an awesome cloud.

  • it looks like snow

  • @NightHunterJokorasi No problem. I've always been fascinated with storm clouds. Of course living in north Alabama, those storm clouds back on April 27th were way too close! At one time during that day, I ended up in the bathroom, listening to the water being sucked out of the commode and doing a little praying.

  • @NightHunterJokorasi Thunderstorm clouds usually are stopped when they reach the base of the stratosphere which acts as a ceiling so the cloud spreads out from there creating the anvil. Sometimes the anvil is created at lower levels by upper-level wind shear.

  • UNFORTUNATELY TOO SHORT but NICE

  • Amazing cloud formations!!

  • were u in a plane?? coz it looks like u were above it. its cool!

  • @mrpoobah2000 yea it looks like(and hear) hes in a plane.

  • cool

  • That's an anvil cloud. When a cloud grows to the height of about 55,000 feet, it can't rise any higher so it spreads out with that flat top making it look like an anvil. It's usually a certain sign of severe storms.

  • @powell1106 no

  • @powell1106 at cruising altitude no, just cellphones, and, now with those new technologies everything can stay turned on

  • @powell1106 when ur cruising u can turn on electronics

  • I've seen these during a climb! i didn't belive my own eyes when did though... We were so close to it that you could (barely) see the lightning form and stuff. I didn't belive my own eyes cause I hadn't slept for 48 hours prior to seeing it...

  • Few years back, I watched a similar cloud go by the side of my home. Shame I didn't have a camera. It was an awesome sight and lasted for ages. This is a great shot.

  • think about it, this person has filmed this from above and put it on here and someone directly under that has probably done the same and not realised that they are being filmed filming the storm by a person in a plane 30,000 feet in the air lol :)

i think like that, dunno why :)

  • @dinzel994 I'd assume.. around 40 000 feet as these clouds reach 30 000 at most. : )

  • @sonicfan7 alright smarty pants hahahaha :D joking

okay we will agree on 40,001.473645 feet :D

  • that storm is pretty organized!

  • you can only imagine on what's going on below

  • is amazng cumulonimbus

  • @marcin67ziomal were was columbus i never saw him

  • This just reminds me how it might look like a total hell hole under a storm, but just above it is a vast beautiful blue sky! 5 stars

  • i love how it is bumpy then flat tat the top. Then lightning from within lights up the cloud...

reminds me of a hollow cylinder cloud with lighning

  • Great anvil shape

  • That is awesome....reminds me of a trip back to Chicago where the whole sky was just landmined w/ the cumulonimbus towers all around.

  • I love flying and seeing storms.

  • that looks beautiful, passive motion combined with a nuke-sort of cloud

  • Wow, I once got stuck on the runway for a plane for 3 hours, and when we finally took off, the plane went around a sky full of those mushroom clouds, but nothing as amazing as this! :)

  • That looks like a Atom bomb!

  • odd that its orange, usually prpl, that looks ominous

  • What was the planes altitude at the time?

  • I was experencing the same but at night

  • Awesome.

  • Lovely. Seen exactly the same scene whilst flying over south France in summer. However the anvil was annonced by the captain to be over 14.000m. We could`nt cruise over, so did a evasive maneuver..It was quite impressing.

  • that anvil looks like a pistol, which is almost destructive as abad storm

  • 0:08 god damn it looks like...... i don't know like... :D... that was.. freaking awesome!
