  • @DoctorRazzArea4 That's OK. If everyone agreed, nothing would ever happen except a bunch of people sitting around and agreeing.

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Feldman Rothko Chapel

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing Feldman Rothko Chapel

  • @pestoman I'm pretty sure he means "johnny greenwood is so much better than Morton Feldman that Morton Feldman is worthless (destroyed) in comparison"

  • @AyumuVanguard That is what I mean. I'm pissed off by this bullshit

  • It´s a very intensive mixture from meditative colours and minimal music. I´ve heard this composition month before on radio. Í hope to visit this interesting building one day. The paintings of Rothko creates a special feeling in me, especally his works in his own room in the London Tate Galery.

  • @DoctorRazzArea4 - what do you mean? Greenwood hates Feldmans' music? Or he plays it really well?! I can't imagine Greenwood would have a particular problem with Feldman?

  • johnny greenwood destroys morton feldman. yea im a hater

  • @DoctorRazzArea4 Not even in the same league, kid, not even in the same league.

  • @puercovaliente2340 I prefer Lord Infamous

  • parts of this reminded me of 2001 a space odyssey

  • Better than the Rothko Chapel which I have seen several times and find to be very dull Rothko. He choose a limited charcoal imbued pallet and was not in top form. Artists repeating themselves can lose inspiration. The chapel is not inspiring.

Fortunately this video is not of the chapel or those dull works and Feldman has captured more of what Rothko could communicate than R did. I was unfamiliar with this work and am glad it was posted. Thanks.

  • Feldman + minimalist art + at night with all the lights off + big ol' spliff = AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa.....!!

    0_0 try it.

  • I first heard thia at an exhibition of all of Rothko's works at the Tate Modern in London about 3 years ago. When I went in I had a headcold and an aching body so bad, it was as if my face was falling off. After viewing the exhibition ( the 'Black-on-Black' collection was my favourite) with this music on Tate-provided headphones, I left feeling healthier than I had in years.

I do not believe in homeopathy or holistic healing, but after that day, I believe in the healing power of music and art.

  • @Fontenla100 Morton Feldman did a series of musical compositions inspired by some of the abstract expressionist artists who were his personal friends. My only intention was to present the music along with some of the work of the particular artist who inspired it. Otherwise newmusicxx is just a presentation of 20th century music in general.

  • @NewMusicXX and 21st century, right?

  • @NewMusicXX Did Feldman visualize specific paintings, associated with certain parts in the music? Or was it just the Rothko Chapel in general?

  • Los colores de Rothko

    Canto sin palabras

    Esa viola ¡al final!

  • view our art! our video was shown in the tate modern have a look its on our channel!

  • Thank you for posting this! But to all you who love the piano work and the exceedingly often performed/recorded Rothko Chapel: There IS more than this in Feldman's work. May sound obvious, I know ;D

  • Música maravillosa

  • Morton Feldman is a genius. The music goes perfectly these paintings

  • 2:45 holy crap

  • うつくしいですね

  • @12jjyz Yes and Most YES!

  • @12jjyz I would, but I love them both

  • @12jjyz why do you assume people who enjoy this type of music don't like bach? personally I think the music is beautiful as are the paintings. that doesn't mean this is the ONLY type of music i listen to.

  • @12jjyz Why does there have to be a choice?

  • Suggesting music for listen with closed eyes...

  • Soiled my britches at 2:20.

  • this wonderful composer inspired lowercase musicians... check Tracing or Decisive Forms by Richard Chartier. it's clear "Feldmanism" turned to contemporary electronic music! immense.

  • What is a lowercase musician when its at home?

  • Musicians who work with sounds usually too silent to be picked up by the human ear. Experiments with snow falling, space, trees etc. Look it up.

  • Interesting, cheers.

  • By no means an expert but really recommend Pieces of Winter by John Hudak and Stephen Mathieu I think it is. Magical stuff, like a snow day when you're little.

  • Give a real honest effort. If you come back to this a few times, you may find some subtleties that were lost on you at first listen. I've found that is often the case for me:

At 17 late John Coltrane sounded like noise, and although some will still insist that interstellar space is 'noise' - I would say to them that its soul-wrenching, pioneering 'noise'.

  • But that's an extreme example, as Feldman's emotive tapestries are far more accessible. If it's still not to your liking, well, at least you've tried.

  • God this man is a fantastic musician

  • Breathtaking.

  • 看來羅斯柯他精神上的修養應該遠超過一般人了

  • what a visionary flow!

  • see "rothko generator"

  • listen to this in the dark and let the pictures swim in your head.....

  • listen to this on headphones in the dark!

  • you are right!! Greta recomendation, every music should be listen that way,

  • @cmmbate AND AFTER SMOKE A MARIGUANA CIGARRETE JAJAJAJ

  • @danielberio I'm so glad that it isn't necessary to do this while listen to that music

  • @cmmbate Don't do it, you'll shit your pants!

  • @cmmbate Freak.

  • @cmmbate I've been listening to Piano & String Quartet every night for a few nights in a row now, it's just amazing that way - shut out all associations and let it come to life!

  • Pieces like the king of denmark may go beyond me and seem more like shock&awe material, or I'm just not interested enough in trying to feel what it is saying(or it could just as well be beyond me), but rothko chapel, triadic memories, for stefan wolpe string quartet nr.2 etc. show me without a doubt, the insane genius that is morton feldman!! Rothko was one of those performances I shall ne'er e'er forget in my life..... To put colloquially, IT KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF!
