This is fucking disgusting. They force-feed them to intentionally make them sick, & cause their livers to swell, up to 1/3 of their body cavity. I learned about this in culinary school, & my chef refused to serve fois gras because of it. How can this be legal?!?!!!! I recently went vegan, & I have never felt better or more healthy, & many old ailments have disappeared, like fatigue, stiffness, and poor circulation, I have lost weight & my skin has cleared up! I recommend it the everyone!
how can you people stand to watch this and then go eat meat!?! i really dont think youd like to go thru alllll this pain just so someone could eat some hackin food! dude you guys are buttheead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
life is a repeating food chain, we humans eat meat. but that's natural, we kill, we die and we go back into the bottom of the cycle. thats natural. THIS IS NOT. ITS NOT NATURAL, how many times do you see a wolf force feeding a rabbit for its livers?
I eat meat and frankly I enjoy it , HOWEVER I do believe that all animals should be treated and killed humanly . I only buy my meat products from local farmers that have free roaming happy animals . They at least deserve to live a happy life before there end , not a torturous one !
There's no such thing as "killing an animal humanely", because there's no way to do it completely painlessly or consensually. Even free range animals end up in the same place to suffer when they are sent off for slaughter.
You know this kind of thing is so dumb. Why do these animal cruelty videos always have to have wierd camera shots and scary music. It's just trying to manipulate human emotions and its retarded. In retrospect, I agree that the unnecessary treatment of these animals is not good. However, they are just ducks. It disturbs me when people try to give animals the same rights of protection as they give to people.
But why are ducks food? Because we say they are. The Jews were in fact not considered human beings in the same sense as "Aryans" were. Why? Because the Nazis said so. Our attitudes toward animals are deeply, deeply entrenched, but when you really analyze them, they don't make a lot of logical sense. Like trying to claim that the Bible is the word of God because it says so in the Bible... a kind of endless, logic Mobius strip.
I see another connection between the ducks and the Jews. Only a very small, ridiculous minority considered the Jews to be anything less that human. Only a very small, ridiculous minority consider ducks to be anything more than food. :) Cheers!
h8yerstate: That's great and all that our ancestors survived by eating a mainly-meat diet, but it doesn't have anything to do with the present. We're a little bit smarter now than when we were cavemen.
If you look at it logically -- most people DO NOT pay attention to these causes. I don't think anyone could take this amount of time to orchestrate this type of public display just to persuade a few you tube users who probably already do not eat that damn shit anyways.
And even if this investigation was somehow forged (which is stretching the limits of my imagination), you can't discount the 100's of other investigations that show the same thing -- animal cruelty. So go live in your hole fag
So really, you don't find anything wrong with the way these people were handling these animals?
There's always one or two you here, always trying to be different, always trying to gain attention -- probably, because in real life no one pays you any.
1) So really, you eat babies? Honestly to fuck, stop slandering me.
Yes, I have a problem with how these people are handing the animals on video. I also have a problem with this "investigation" actually being an activist sabotage op masquerading as an investigation.
2) Always one of two of us, blah blah. Oh, I see a lot more than one or two of them here. But they're not on MY side of the fence.
Foie Gras should be banned. It's one thing to slaughter animals for food consumption, but to treat them with such cruelty for personal indulgence is disgusting.
Hmm.. you say "Foie Gras should be banned. It's one thing to slaughter animals for food consumption, but to treat them with such cruelty for personal indulgence is disgusting. "
Well, that's an interesting way of seeing it.
I'm guessing taht you aren't very aware of how all the other "food-consumption-animals" are treated then.
ArrowHead83: So, an undercover video that is documenting the actual, day-to-day conditions of a controversial industry ISN'T an investigation? I wonder what exactly would constitute an investigation?
By the way ,I do care Just because I know whats up, You should do some research, Dont go by reaction. Thats what they want. I dont eat Foie Gras or veal. Because I disagree . But I dont want laws we have enough. I raise my own organic meat eggs and veggies. I know where my food comes from. Not the market. Butchering is never pretty no matter how humane. You want to be a vagan be one but dont impose those laws on me. Peta has an agenda as well as other animal rights no animal wellfare yes.
I agree that bans are a touchy subject, and always potentially dangerous from a libertarian perspective. But still, we have to have standards. I think we can all agree that bans on murder, torture, etc. are reasonable... I mean, nobody's complaining that criminalizing torture is just Big Government trying to run our lives. Why is it different for ducks? Most reasonable people would agree that torturing animals does not fall within their value systems.
your missing the point, Im not deluded, Animals dont need to be liberated. Peta took hundrends of farm raised rabbits and released them into the wild.Lets see a film on that! How long do you think they lived? Too many in one area, the colors mainly white? This video was made to create the reaction your giving so you will vote for what Animal libbers want. Control Who do you think is going to decide on what rights your Dog has? Or Chicken? It wont be you!! Wake up!!
The point being this could and in my opinion is an act To stop Foie Gras production. It wouldnt be a first time for PETA etc. to kill maim to get their agenda passed. Wake up !!
Puts me right off foie gras. The ugly force-feeding and disgraceful brutality...and keeping them in these filthy cages. I eat duck, but a healthy free-range bird that was killed cleanly. We had chickens, in UK in WWII, and when it was time to supplement rations my uncle would just grab one and wring its neck in a couple of seconds. (The best-tasting chickens you ever ate!) Vegans have a consistent philosophy, but I think some others are also valid, and have sustained humanity for a long time
How can people be so cruel? What does that say about them, are they retarded and don't have a clue what they're doing or are they just to stunned to know right from wrong. People who eat this shit should be butchered the same way as these animals are...
And sadly, I would agree that the employees *were* showing off, in much the same way as some children will try to impress their friends by picking on someone smaller.
Saying that it is staged by actors and that only the worst bits are taped to make it look like the status quo is a major cop-out. Animal cruelty happens, people. It's difficult for some people to admit because if they face facts they'll have to make the decision to either (a) denounce supporting the cruelty and become veg or (b) continue eating animals and admit that they fully support animal cruelty.
Not to mention that their faces are blurred out, so how could someone tell whether or not they're looking at the camera?! It seems likely that the investigator was wearing a "button cam", and naturally his co-workers would have been looking at him...
omg this is discusting , notin the sense that its ugly , but in the sense that its so fucking dum. Animals should not be tortued when killed , use gaz or something.
People come first, We have the right to live and eat as we will.Animals have the right to live and die with kindess and ease , Just as I would want. These people knew they were being filmed . They did the actions in front of the filming they were not caught. they looked into the lense and some were showing off. Watch the actors not the animals.
A few decades ago, John Robbins investigated these kinds of animal abuse that are associated with factory farming. His "Diet for a New America" should be on everyone's reading list.
I don't eat foie gras every day. Maybe like once a month. It's stupid to eat a delicacy often, because then you habituate to its taste, and you lose the ability to taste all the rich flavor. Besides, cheese connoisseurs are more likely to develop heart disease since they eat much more cheese on a more regular basis than a foie gras lover.
No, it's stupid to eat a delicacy that was created from so much cruelty, because you then actively support the cruelty and lose the ability to tell right from wrong.
Also, pate de foie gras and a hard cheese like gouda are very similar in terms of saturated fats and cholesterol, with cheese have more saturated fats, and foie gras having more cholesterol. And foie gras has nearly twice as much monounsaturated fats (which help protect the heart) as saturated fats.
I guess this video didn't have any effect on you. To have an animal will go through excessive pain and suffering to please your tastebuds doesn't speak well for your character, Hobo.
Well i care but i still eat meat and other things not particurally duck meat but i do eat steak and things like that. I want animal abuse to end, but killing an animal for food is ok as long as it is done humanely which it was not in this video at ALL!
I have seen things at Chicken plants as well, where if a chicken falls off a truck they pick it up by one leg and if they can't catch the chicken they hit it with a catch stick when they get frusterated!!!
This was gross. Way beyond reasonable animal husbandry - especially at 2:13. I'm not sure that there was any extra animal cruelty on the part of the handlers - they may have been just culling sick or injured birds. It's never a pretty sight even in a vet's office with a lethal injection.
I think that everybody who eats foie gras should have to see this right after indulging. (Waiter, bring me a bucket!)
my problem with this video is that some of these people knew they were being filmed. They looked into the lense . I raise poultry and butchering is never pretty. These acts are over done in my mind. my question is were they acting? remember to look hard before you jump on any band wagon. I found this to be sad review of human nature. True or not.
Yep. And while there are scenes that should be unacceptable in a well-managed operation, these videos tend to focus on the worst and make it look like status quo.
Why always people with serious mental issues (like anger management problems) has to "work" with animals? It is repulsive the humans behaviour regarding other species. These people should be in a mental institution because they ARE dangerous!!! And stop doing something so unnatural as fatty liver. We have many things to eat without the need of such disgusting cruel "practice".
MY CURSE TO THESE PEOPLE__May people who do such activities die a very slow and painful death like they did to these poor creatures. PEOPLE ARE FUCKING SICK. I thank God I'm a vegetarian.
How can someone who's living it is to kill and torture possibly be mentally stable? I wonder if there have been any studies into slaughter house worker's mental health?
I want to kill this people. Well, not really. Just open their stomach and let them die.
The point is not to make them suffer less. The point is that we don't have to kill them. There is no reason. I'm vegan (no meat, no fish, no milk, no cheese...) and I'm very healthy and enjoy life better than when I wasn't vegan.
Think about that. We are nobody to take a life. Just to people as cruel as those in the video.
If this people don't have any respect for other's life, why should we have respect to them? If they can be that cruel to animals you'll never know what they are capable of.
So that means you are seeing these ducks as just that, a duck, and not as living beings?
(if these people need money, there are millions of jobs out there where you don't have to kill)
I'm seriously SERIOUSLY considering turning vegetarian after watching this. Animals have souls, they feel pain, pleasure. If one gets killed for food, it should die as painlessly as possible. Nowadays, that's just not being done. That's the problem I have.
Ariane is an idiot...and we should be FLOODING her with emails. Absolutely disgusting. Reprobates have no soul and she fits my definition of that. "If a man aspires towards a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals." - Albert Einstein"

Wake up!!

I think we should be doing what they do to the people who are doing it and see how they feel.

Tey shouldnt be stopped for cruelty, they should be stopped for being unsanitary.
Ducks breathe through their toungs, so they have no gag reflex. That tube going down thier throat doesnt bother them if its done right.

How can people be so cruel? What does that say about them, are they retarded and don't have a clue what they're doing or are they just to stunned to know right from wrong. People who eat this shit should be butchered the same way as these animals are...

Killing for Eating. Wrong or Right.
The only way you can force people to stop being crule is to Have rules when Killing for Food.
I KNOW KILLING IS WRONG.
KILLING FOR FOOD WITHOUT CRULETY IS STILL KILLNG. IF YOU ARE KILLING TO EAT HUMAINLY AND DO NOT WASTE WHAT YOU KILL THAT IS NOT WRONG.
IF YOU KILL WITH NO RESPECT OF THE LIFE YOU TAKE, OR FOR THE FUN OF IT BY BEING CRULE THAT IS WRONG.
YOU CAN EAT BUT DON'T EAT WITHOUT RESPONCABILITY OR KNOWLEAGE OF HOW YOU FOOD WAS AQUIRED.

And sadly, I would agree that the employees *were* showing off, in much the same way as some children will try to impress their friends by picking on someone smaller.
c4yerself 4 years ago 4

Before you eat up, you'd better make sure you have both a good doctor and hospital to treat your artery disease.

HoboZombie 4 years ago
No, it's stupid to eat a delicacy that was created from so much cruelty, because you then actively support the cruelty and lose the ability to tell right from wrong.
Banshee124 4 years ago 4
Also, pate de foie gras and a hard cheese like gouda are very similar in terms of saturated fats and cholesterol, with cheese have more saturated fats, and foie gras having more cholesterol. And foie gras has nearly twice as much monounsaturated fats (which help protect the heart) as saturated fats.

I guess this video didn't have any effect on you. To have an animal will go through excessive pain and suffering to please your tastebuds doesn't speak well for your character, Hobo.

So? They're animals. Why should I care what happens to them.
HoboZombie 4 years ago
You might not care, but other people do. And when people see these animals being treated like this, they know not to buy factory farm food
bronteelizabeth 3 years ago 4
Well i care but i still eat meat and other things not particurally duck meat but i do eat steak and things like that. I want animal abuse to end, but killing an animal for food is ok as long as it is done humanely which it was not in this video at ALL!

I have seen things at Chicken plants as well, where if a chicken falls off a truck they pick it up by one leg and if they can't catch the chicken they hit it with a catch stick when they get frusterated!!!
OnlyAKKID 4 years ago
This was gross. Way beyond reasonable animal husbandry - especially at 2:13. I'm not sure that there was any extra animal cruelty on the part of the handlers - they may have been just culling sick or injured birds. It's never a pretty sight even in a vet's office with a lethal injection.
I think that everybody who eats foie gras should have to see this right after indulging. (Waiter, bring me a bucket!)
ScooterMcBean 4 years ago
my problem with this video is that some of these people knew they were being filmed. They looked into the lense . I raise poultry and butchering is never pretty. These acts are over done in my mind. my question is were they acting? remember to look hard before you jump on any band wagon. I found this to be sad review of human nature. True or not.
belflower 4 years ago
Yep. And while there are scenes that should be unacceptable in a well-managed operation, these videos tend to focus on the worst and make it look like status quo.
rationlmynd 4 years ago
Regardless of whether they were "acting" or not, the birds weren't.
They weren't pretending to be confined in cages so tiny they can't move, or being covered in filth, or being thrown into the ground.
And if the people KNEW they were being filmed, I can't imagine what they'd do if they weren't on camera.
rachelle1017 3 years ago 4
Why always people with serious mental issues (like anger management problems) has to "work" with animals? It is repulsive the humans behaviour regarding other species. These people should be in a mental institution because they ARE dangerous!!! And stop doing something so unnatural as fatty liver. We have many things to eat without the need of such disgusting cruel "practice".

MY CURSE TO THESE PEOPLE__May people who do such activities die a very slow and painful death like they did to these poor creatures. PEOPLE ARE FUCKING SICK. I thank God I'm a vegetarian.
WinterHaven 4 years ago
How can someone who's living it is to kill and torture possibly be mentally stable? I wonder if there have been any studies into slaughter house worker's mental health?
lilithdeSade 4 years ago
I want to kill this people. Well, not really. Just open their stomach and let them die.
The point is not to make them suffer less. The point is that we don't have to kill them. There is no reason. I'm vegan (no meat, no fish, no milk, no cheese...) and I'm very healthy and enjoy life better than when I wasn't vegan.
Think about that. We are nobody to take a life. Just to people as cruel as those in the video.
Must see Earthlings! In google videos.
Encriptedman 4 years ago
Riiight.... so killing animals = bad, but killing people to save animals = A-OK?
You're need to get your head checked.
ArrowHead83 3 years ago
If this people don't have any respect for other's life, why should we have respect to them? If they can be that cruel to animals you'll never know what they are capable of.
So that means you are seeing these ducks as just that, a duck, and not as living beings?
(if these people need money, there are millions of jobs out there where you don't have to kill)
Encriptedman 3 years ago 3
I'm seriously SERIOUSLY considering turning vegetarian after watching this. Animals have souls, they feel pain, pleasure. If one gets killed for food, it should die as painlessly as possible. Nowadays, that's just not being done. That's the problem I have.
