First saw them at the Channel in Boston in 1984. Laurie Sargent was amazing to see live and I was hooked. Saw them several times throughout the 80's and it was always awesome.
Laurie Sargent -- one of the most underrated singers of her generation. I grew up in Boston and was bowled over by her performance the first time I saw her and Face to Face.
#cathoderoy I checked out "groove thing"- she does seem like she's grown alot on stage...maybe it was partly the poor quality of the video upload that made it seem like she didn't connect well.....she's good live- 10-9-8 is probably on of my all time favorite songs...ever!
Laurie was the only good thing about Face to Face and this is the only good song on the album. The album doesn't flow or soud like this. She should've gotten in another band.
I don't know them personally....but Stu Kimball now produces and plays with Bob Dylan, Angelo is a successful producer and player who recently was behind the success of Kings of Leon, John Ryder is a top electric/stand up bass player....the band wasn't the problem, as they were as talented a bunch as you could fit into a Boston band.

Laurie Sargent was 1 of the singers used to create Diane Lane's singin' voice in the film 'Streets of fire' 10-9-8 should've been bigger. Peaked at only #38 in Billboard.
She's adorable! So is her brother. She had the look and the voice. Why weren't they huge? They had to have been mismanaged. Does anyone know where they are now?
The guys I don't know, but Laurie sang with TWINEMAN for a while (maybe still does), You should also search youtube for her solo performance in Harvard Sq, singing "Baby Says Hey" while promoting her solo album "Heads & Tales" which can be found at Amazon.
So Sad :( She is such a hot babe with a great voice :) But the dumbass that told here to look like a burned out dude of the late 70`s "tyler" was a jackass ! I hate to say it killed her career ! :(
What show was this from? I always loved F2F, sorry they didn't make it huge. A former assistant of mine had a studio tape of this album; I think he did some of the shots for the band. It was way cool hearing them work on the sound, and how they crafted the album. Great posting, thanks.
It's from a show called This Week's Music. It was a syndicated dance show. The host in the video is Livingston Taylor. They always had a music guest at the end of the show that had mostly had moderate success like Berlin (Right after the Top 40 No More Words and before the #1 Take My Breath Away), Mama's Boys, Honeymoon Suite, and Face to Face.

Great song. It,s a mystery why they did not have greater success.I guess it,s true that the music biz is cruel.

They just didn't catch.

@Bassman968 I think mostly because she had no stage presence.

@trummellgary Look at a couple of the live Laurie Sargent videos that I uploaded and see if you still think she has no stage presence...
