I saw them at the Roxy in Hollywood back in '88 If I remember correctly. It was a magical night. They were still in their glam era. Man I miss those days when I was a lot younger. Id go see them again if they were back together again.
ahhh lol i get to see them tonight there opening for the Damned at the House of Blues LA(somepart maybe west hollywood) i have never heard jay aston...sound cool got it's on sound, but i dout anywhere near as good as the damned if they play there first album....so i dont think they stopped playing or there just more undergrond..but the shows to if ur in LA.. but i dont know this band so maybe there members missing now...if its not the singer that got replaced it's still the same band....
The band still sounds great, except...Jay can't hit those high notes anymore. He can barely get the chorus out here. It really is too bad that the brothers split like they did, they could have done so much together, could have gone a lot farther.
I've been a fan of GLJ since '84. I'm a twin, so I know the psychology gets complicated. It's a shame that two talented brothers aren't collaborating anymore. Or maybe they would say the contrary. Their business of course! I understand that Mike is using the GLJ moniker more and that they had some differences. I would like to know more and want to show support to Jay as well as to Mike as I understand Jay wrote most GLJ songs, no? Best wishes to both brothers. --Ms. Pogle in SF
GLJ the Mike version from what I can tell, are touring in San Francisco soon. When I found out that this might be a Jay-less event, I felt disappointed. I know that both brothers are talented, but I feel it's a shame that some sort of rift went down between them. Best of luck to Jay. -Ms. Pogle. SF
The JAY version (Jay Aston, James Stevenson, Pete Rizzo & Chris Bell) IS playing San Francisco on November 24 at the Red Devil Lounge. Go see them! I wish I could!
Comes from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. Jay and James try to nick another one. yawn. PATHETIC!

Hi UltraBVR
This is just a Bad Quality video
Wait until GLJ Releases the Official DVD of this Concert and you´ll notice how JAY voice is increasing "HIGH NOTES" over JAMES Guitar ...

Frankly I think they are lame for only playing Portgual ... over and over and over and over - and never the states.
Nominay 5 years ago
Maybe you should ask the other twin why Jay & Co. haven't been touring the states.
AngryJezebel 5 years ago
I know as much about that situation as I need to. I'm not interested in excuses, I'm interested in music.
Nominay 5 years ago
If you are only interested in the music, why do you give a damn where they play?
