Sugar now lives in France:) The women that adopted her flew almost 20 animals with them. Vets in Taiwan don't put animals down unless they are in a lot of pain and dying. Sugar became paralysed..which made her depressed and the vets amputated her hind legs because the dead weight was preventing her from moving. It is very rare that people eat dog in Taiwan.

As long as she is happy, that is the most important thing IMO. And she does seem very happy despite the horrible abuse and past torture. Animals' trust in people seems to be more resiliant than people's trust in any kind of other being. It is nice to see Sugar and makes me feel really good knowing she has been saved and that she is doing so well. Its a wonderful and powerful story, too. Well done, rescuers and Sugar FTW!!
