Okay, just got back! It was pretty good, better IA vocals than I've heard in years. And Aqualung was not the encore! No white balloons. No phone call for "you". T-shirt and program look boring. I guess "40th anniversary tour" means the one after the 39th. (My Sunday Feeling, Nursie, Farm on the Freeway, Heavy Horses, Thick as a Brick, Aqualung, Song for Jeffrey, Locomotive Breath, Dharma for One, Bouree, Serenade to a Cuckoo, With You There to Help Me, We Used to Know)
Hi, all my friends are far away, so I always record alone. Inevitably, something is unplugged or plugged in wrong or mixed wrong. This is why I hate digital recording! You can't monitor OFF THE TAPE while recording to make sure everything is fine. I'm in LA, you'd think I'd have lots of musician friends to work with, but no one here has even HEARD of Jethro Tull! Thank you for watching this!
Well, if it was just ME involved here I could be called "Fat Man" or "Crosseyed Larry"...but in this case perhaps "Songs From The Hoods" would work? LOL.
HaHaHa!! Too funny!! Who would steal the candy from a laughing baby's mouth, Cross-eyed Larry...or...You guys could be dress up as rappers cruisin' in the forest, Let us bring you songs from the hood. But "Songs From The Hood" is the album, the band should be called...CROSS-EYED LARRY AND JACKS-IN-THE-GREEN!!!
One of my favorites has just improved. Along with Jack's brilliant mandolin play, LC's bass and percussion gives the song a thicker soul, and Jak's flute supports the songs drive. Great job guys! Keep them coming!
HAHA, I always thought there was something oddly familiar about Jack. I've just never made the Hugh Laurie connection and by golly you've solved the mystery for me. HAHAHA. By the way, Hugh Laurie is an accomplished musician as well so this may go even deeper than we think. :)
I still prefer "Jonny Quest's father"! 2nd place: John Malkovich. 3rd place: David Letterman 4th: Mike Rowe 5th: David Cross 6th: Ice-T 7th: various people in Norway. 8th: Howard Hughes.
really great !!!!!

Jack really should have recorded the mandolin and voice separately, not only for the sound quality, but for his performance. Otherwise, great job!

But I think Dharma For One was worth the money! Never heard a better sound from the "new" Lineup.
But you're right, everything else just as usual. As we say in Styria: "Eh scho wissn." :-) Freely translated: "Well, I think you know about it."

That's really great! - Can't help but say I'd like to have had the vocals a bit higher though?... bit drowned out by the (great anyways!) mando...

Wow! You have just confirmed something that I have been struggling with - that being
You can't monitor OFF THE TAPE while recording to make sure everything is fine.
I have been corresponding with LC about recording but he has really nice equipment which I can only dream about at this point.
So keep up the good work!
I play guitars, bass and the hideous MANDOLIN!
40 years of guitars and now I'm learning mandolin - back to Mel Bay for all different chords.
And teeny frets too.

How about Jethro Bull? Hey, why doesn't Bull rhyme with Tull?
