  • really great !!!!!

  • Jack really should have recorded the mandolin and voice separately, not only for the sound quality, but for his performance. Otherwise, great job!

  • Wow excelent my friend Congratulations.

  • The mandolin is so pretty! :)

  • Wow~! How'd I miss this one!? Fantastic!!

  • Okay, just got back! It was pretty good, better IA vocals than I've heard in years. And Aqualung was not the encore! No white balloons. No phone call for "you". T-shirt and program look boring. I guess "40th anniversary tour" means the one after the 39th. (My Sunday Feeling, Nursie, Farm on the Freeway, Heavy Horses, Thick as a Brick, Aqualung, Song for Jeffrey, Locomotive Breath, Dharma for One, Bouree, Serenade to a Cuckoo, With You There to Help Me, We Used to Know)

  • But I think Dharma For One was worth the money! Never heard a better sound from the "new" Lineup.

But you're right, everything else just as usual. As we say in Styria: "Eh scho wissn." :-) Freely translated: "Well, I think you know about it."

  • Four days! (Greek Theater)

  • However... in just 17 days I will be seeing JT just right up the street from here!

  • muy bueno loco!!

  • That's really great! - Can't help but say I'd like to have had the vocals a bit higher though?... bit drowned out by the (great anyways!) mando...

  • Hi, all my friends are far away, so I always record alone. Inevitably, something is unplugged or plugged in wrong or mixed wrong. This is why I hate digital recording! You can't monitor OFF THE TAPE while recording to make sure everything is fine. I'm in LA, you'd think I'd have lots of musician friends to work with, but no one here has even HEARD of Jethro Tull! Thank you for watching this!

  • Wow! You have just confirmed something that I have been struggling with - that being

You can't monitor OFF THE TAPE while recording to make sure everything is fine.

I have been corresponding with LC about recording but he has really nice equipment which I can only dream about at this point.

So keep up the good work!

I play guitars, bass and the hideous MANDOLIN!

40 years of guitars and now I'm learning mandolin - back to Mel Bay for all different chords.

    And teeny frets too.

  • I loke all these new collaborations everyone is doing lately. This is really great!

  • I have dreamed of something like this for 35 years! I tell everybody about it. I knew there were people like me somewhere.

  • This is great! Really great to see this morning;)5*****Jane

  • You guys rock!! Great stuff.

  • Jack rocks. You rock. (Jak rocks too).

    Very tricky tune. Me likey.

  • Bravo guys, you're getting down to the Tull core to coin a phrase. -Ron

  • I've got a name for us: Jethro Toe! (nobody else is using it) Okay then, how about "B" instead?

  • How about Jethro Bull? Hey, why doesn't Bull rhyme with Tull?

  • They do in Liverpool.

  • Well, if it was just ME involved here I could be called "Fat Man" or "Crosseyed Larry"...but in this case perhaps "Songs From The Hoods" would work? LOL.

  • HaHaHa!! Too funny!! Who would steal the candy from a laughing baby's mouth, Cross-eyed Larry...or...You guys could be dress up as rappers cruisin' in the forest, Let us bring you songs from the hood. But "Songs From The Hood" is the album, the band should be called...CROSS-EYED LARRY AND JACKS-IN-THE-GREEN!!!

  • Funny you should bring up Jack In The Green...that's Jak Wimmler's myspace screen name...HAHAHA. I should have thought of that one myself...dangit!

  • Collaboration makes the world a better place!

One of my favorites has just improved. Along with Jack's brilliant mandolin play, LC's bass and percussion gives the song a thicker soul, and Jak's flute supports the songs drive. Great job guys! Keep them coming!

  • respect

  • Hey! That is amazing guys. Really great work and the recording sounds A1, with a really nice ambiance.

    *chants*

    "Songs From The Wood"

    *chants*

  • Thanks nickeax...and I will chant right back at ya...

    "Already did SFTW"

"Up to my neck with TAAB"

    LOL.

  • Nice. Viewed and commented. 5/5

  • My God...the Doctor House with mandolin!!!

  • HAHA, I always thought there was something oddly familiar about Jack. I've just never made the Hugh Laurie connection and by golly you've solved the mystery for me. HAHAHA. By the way, Hugh Laurie is an accomplished musician as well so this may go even deeper than we think. :)

  • I still prefer "Jonny Quest's father"! 2nd place: John Malkovich. 3rd place: David Letterman 4th: Mike Rowe 5th: David Cross 6th: Ice-T 7th: various people in Norway. 8th: Howard Hughes.

  • 9th: Kelsey Grammar(aka fraiser Crane)

  • Yes, I forgot that one! And if you freeze-frame my right profile, I am the continent of Africa.

  • LOL!

  • Hello Again!

Another beautiful job! Congratulations! I absolutely love the Mandolin and it is very well played!

    Best Regards

    TJ

  • Awesome guys!!! Next time I would like to be part of this project!!! ahahahah.

    Cheers

  • Hmm, you ARE the only guy who can play that Velvet Green thing...

  • great job guys!

  • Ian's gotta be cracking up...

    Great job.

  • Even with the 'resources' you had, it's a really nice audio mix.

    Nice playing guys :)

  • Great job guys!!! 5*****

  • Splendid! Rock on brothers~!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!! 5 stars from me :)

  • Sounds great! And I do now here where I play it different to the original...but it's ok, isn't it?

  • I think you did a superb job of it, Jak! :D Thanks for your help on this one! YOU DA MAN!

  • Both of me says wow!
