  • Beautiful. Powerful. Moving. So much like Led Zeppelin. That keyboard part is hypnotizing. Thanks for uploading this!

  • Dat intro. 8B

  • This is easily one of the greatest songs to come out of the eighties - nothing like it!

  • saw a hot-ass stripper up in windsor canada (who looked like she was from penthouse mag.) take off all her clothes to this song, will never forget that moment ass long as i live.

  • When I was '27 in '87, I was obsessed with this songs for a couple of months. Strong, pure rock. Nothing quite like it. Incredible vocals.

  • Of all the songs I've ever heard, and all the songs I love, and all my very favorites, this one is in my top 10 of all time. Underrated, stellar, unlike anything else they did. After a million listens, I still pick out new notes I didn't hear before each time I put this on. Headphones as loud as they can go for the climax toward the end....... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes.

  • i love loverboy this is my favorite song i have it on cassette but i cant find the damn thing.

  • best song ever really really loud!!!!!

  • Back in the mid eighties I owned a sweet Aries K car, pin striped with cloth seats and a sun roof. I would pop in this cassette and crank it ! Oh, the memories !

  • whoops,.."quality"....

  • it's not so much the Quaity of the song,...but the "good" memories that return from your youth when you hear it.

  • One of their greatest songs.

  • Thing WERE just cooler back then!!! And yes, I too am just about blowing my computer speakers.

What I wouldn't do to be able to slip back to the 80's!!

  • Got to see them play this song in 2000 with the original lineup a few months before Scott Smith died boating in SF bay. Always thought this was their altime best track. 1982 - what a cook fucking year!!!!

  • Does anyone know the guitar parts to this amazing song?

  • Very Underated song. This was a great album when it came out & still is. I was 11, Loved it then and now 41, Still do.......

  • I can't believe this came out 30 years ago! Reminds me of dancing @ a local place and like it was yesterday!

  • in loving memory for my bro javier resendiz flores

  • Sends chills up and down my spine! Love the way this songs takes you to the top, then at the very end listen closely, as it brings you back down and leaves you ........(use your imagination).

  • rite on jeff

  • ahh yes, when bad ass keyboards dominated

  • ..what's poor boy to do when he's fallen in love with you

  • this is a great song to lay the hammer down to, if y'all get what i mean :)

  • Most delightfuly loveable, laydown lick,N lay" me wiv dah big dong'ed love ya long time song from 83' ...10th grade Hunnies ...There were juz so many ,AND... i did her til she qwivered and POPPED" to it ..."

  • Ok I just Read on Wiki that the "The wearer of the leather pants was the 14 year old daughter of the male photographer" there are some things you cant Unlearn..... lets see album title is get lucky and its an ass of a 14 year old..... Hmmm

  • @nws102 haha sporting the back of a hairy forearm and wrist ? lmfao !

  • Man--I loved this one--awesome rocking party song from the good old days :)

  • badd !!! ass !!!

  • not only is this a wicked loverboy song, but i'll put it up against anything that came out in the 80's, the guitar is so smooth and seducing, and it just takes on a whole new life at 3:36, they really show their range at that point.

  • LOVERBOY ROCKED LAS VEGAS, SO LOUD AND CLEAN!

  • the beginning is so, so cool

  • Loverboy!! I forgot about them.

  • really one of the best albums of that era..and there were A LOT of good albums in '81 that's for sure

  • used to ski lump with this blasting on my cassette player. Got some great air on this song. . Would make you take the chances normally you woulnt. And the ladies loved Reno and me!!! Timberline lodge and Multipor ski jump!! loved it all!

  • I blew a pair of speakers AND headphones when this song came out. Now I'm trying not to blow my computer speakers!!! I guess that about sums it up. :)

  • Damn haven't heard this in years....good memories....that whole album was awesome..

  • Yeah! One of the best 80's rock tracks! I loved Loverboy but it was hard for me to listen to them after what happened to their bass player, sad.......

  • Bringing back the 80's with a great song!

  • I was 20 at that time, it was a awesome time and a awesome number, we really lived the live at that time.....and yes girls had wings.....and yes take me back !

  • one of the greatest albums of all time

  • These guys weren't even at the top and STILL kick most of the top 40 acts of today out to the curb.

  • These are the 80's Shit MTV needs to wake up!!!

  • 6 dislikes? Are you kidding me?

    Get Lucky rocks!!

  • Takes me way back!!!

  • So AWESOME!

  • LOVE this song !!!!! So sexy!!!

  • Saw 'em on the Get Lucky Tour, as well. Crap, wasn't that just the other day? Ha! Ha!

  • saw them at the St.Pete rib fest in St.Petersburg, Fl in 98 and man they kicked ass 9000 people showed up even though had not played in awhile they sounded awesome!

  • Love LoverBoy!

  • also seen them live with ted nugent, its was a outdoor performance a great setting, music was loud , and a cool night breeze to set the tone for a rocking nite

  • saw live stuff NOT good !!!!!!

  • Great base line, good guitar work, vocals OK, but falls flat due to the duration. A good producer could have turned this into something memorable. Alas, its lost in the vast ash bin of '80's cheese.

  • @dasboot19801

Yeah you're right. You should go back and listen to your 2:10 Justin Beiber "hits."

  • @usernamevidio Who the hell is "Justin Beiber"?

  • I saw em in 80's and this song made the rafters rattle -- loved it ever since!

  • I had this in the cassette deck playing in my 74 impala on my way to school my senior year in high school, coming in from the country on a very icy morning, my car slid off the road, and went down in a ditch, and landed on her side......this song was playing at the time....forever etched in my mind.....

  • @Scott yeah i wanne go to the 70s and the 80s and stuck in that time

  • Things were just cooler back then, and things made more sense. The songs could make the hair on the back of you neck stand up. What happened?????? Guess I'll just have to live in the past (yes I want to)

  • You know this is the original demo of the song, whenever Loverboy tried to "properly"record the song they were never able to capture the feel of the demo,so they said screw it and put the demo out!

  • Used to love this tune when it came out, would sit and try to tape it off the radio like 4 times a day. Still a great tune.

  • @Matlike Boy what a lost art that is, I used to do the same thing! iPods and YouTube and having access to everything on demand is cool and all, but I think the kids of today are missing out on something by not having to "work for" their music like we did. I can remember one time when a friend and I sat in front of my TV in early days of MTV for 5-6 hours just to see a certain video.

  • @TennesseeMatty I love what you said.."lost art"!!! After reading your post, I started thinking about all the car speakers, and more home speakers...I love blown speakers out. And to this day, I still have the art!! :)

  • LOVERBOY---"TAKE IT TO THE TOP"

  • MIKE RENO'S BUTT HE JOKINGLY SAID IN AN INTERVIEW they are no longer 30x40 but good humour 40x30

  • Nice picture of a guys ass and crotch. Kind of like this song.

  • My girls and i used to " airband " to this song. i couldn't remember what song it was. i just knew it was awesome, and not one that was played on the radio. now i know even at a young age we had great musical taste.

  • 5 people don't wanna be taken to the top....hey if you don't...just don't watch,don't listen..and get a life!!!

  • i heard this on the classic rock radio i thought it was so groovy!!..but i did not who sung it till i stumbled...here im 25 but never got around listening ti Loverboy......now wheres a near by stripper joint!!! XD this would be great for stripper music

  • lucky ones was awesome album along with REO's hi infidelity in the 80's

  • Those 4 people obviously are tone deaf and should probably consider some type of surgery to get it repaired.

  • Motley Crue, Scorpions, Metallica, Poison, Bon Jovi, Whiesnake, Blue Murder, Kingdom Come, Bonham, London Choir Boys, The Cult, Cher, Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani, Yes, Coverdale-Page...all recorded in Vancouver Canada with Loverboy`s production staff and enginneers and studios. They all wanted that `loverboy sound`.

  • they dont make music like this ne more

  • Loverboy sucks! I think I'll go on YouTube and watch it now....

  • Great Music!!!!!! High School Days

  • they really never went away, and they still rock like they did way back when.... I'm dying to see them live again, just saw they are playing a show in Vancouver, BC 1/14/2011. Such great memories from this music...

  • I wish these boys would come back, where are they at?

  • Yeah, I wrecked my ghetto blaster on this album. Too bad Mike is as fat as me these days.

  • @joelscopeland lol-he's fat because of all those damn rib burnoffs they do!!lol I'm hungry just thinkin' about it!!

  • Damn sometimes I feel old. I can almost till hear this one blasting out of that HUGE GE boombox. 10 D batteries, man.

  • @DriveInFreak

  • gotta lotta lovin to this song back in the day,

this song, the beach and my 1980 RX7 and I was "golden" every night LOL.....

  • Loverboy is he shit! No one plays anything like this anymore. Too Bad! 11.02.10

  • I'm waiting for someone to cover this album. Someone who can really cry it out! Memo to budding artists: there is some thing here to work with! It never rocked as much as it could have. Its yours to own.

  • @saully1966 Good luck on that one......

  • Miss the 80's!!!!

  • soon after this breakthrough (cassette) album dawned so did paul dean as well as the birth of dean guitars

  • God Dang RIGHT!!!!

  • oh yeah, roller skating to this back in the early 80,s was a blast, and the chic,s back then with those tight jeans on and the big hair...where did it go

  • I agree with freeserburn9. I wore this cassette out.

  • One of the all time GREAT intros for a tune. The old Phrophet 5 synth intro, & then that great bass line after the press roll. Great tune.

  • @Kazyman

That synth just kicks my butt! Those older analog synth's sounded awesome! The newer digital ones aren't as warm sounding.

  • Man, does this take me back. Chicks with legg warmers and headbands and spiked hair.Cruising in my 68 Chevelle. Damn those were some of the best times of my life. And the music was awesome!

  • @starrtrue67

Everything you've just said: Absolutely true, all of it!

  • paul dean

  • Man I loved roller skating to this song back in the early 80s

  • LOVERBOY was awesome.

    Nessus

  • Something very wrong about a mans ass in pink leather pants. Heterosexual? I think not...

  • @axxsmith lol, i always thought they were red!!!

  • @cutsumslack I guess red is the color, but, I still question the man who would wear such a thing (remember Eddie Murphy laughing his ass off in Beverly Hills Cop I)

  • Love 80's rock

  • Shire Road Pub! and Prime Beef! You all know who you are!!

  • Shire Road Pub! and Prime Beef! You all kbnow who you are!!

  • Great Song! Thanks for posting.

  • The only way you would have ever known about this song is by buying the album. The radio stations seldom played it. It is to bad because this song is better than their hit "working for the weekend."

  • Going to see LOVERBOY in concert tonight . JULY 4TH!!!

  • I love this song. Just seen Loverboy in concert last night, what a great show the boys can still rock

  • Saw Loverboy last weekend at Nebraska Summerfest. Incredible show. Temperature was in the 90's in an outdoor concert and Mike Reno hit all the notes.

  • Loverboy is coming to our town in 3 days I'm excited

  • hahahaah... Wow... I totally forgot about this! This was my first major concert I went to!

Lover boy! Foreinger! Pat Benetar and a few others.... wow... so long ago... it was in Milwaukee Wisconsin...

When I got home and got out of the car like 3 a.m. my ears were ringing! hahahaha...

I couldn't get them to stop ringing! I was in bed and couldn't sleep for hours! hahahahaha... so f'n funny! Omg... so funny! :)

  • I actually played Sold a Car to this once!...Needless the say, the girl was putty in my hands, hahaha ;)

  • Just don't mess with the restictor plate!!

  • Da*n he has the hairiest arms I think I've ever seen. Ooops! Love this song!!! :D

  • Again, the musicianship of this band was often so overlooked...Paul Dean is just incredible---tasteful, doesn't overplay, great sound...

  • the opening synth riff sounds a lot like Nine In Nails synth riff of Head Like A Hole which was written a decade later. Hmmmmmmm....

  • @717mienbao Dave the rave Olgilvie produced NIN. Dave is from Vancouver and worked as an engineer in the same studio Loverboy recorded this. Early Roland Super Juno. Trent used the same module. You have good ears 717

  • @Gordfozzfoster wow, now that is interesting. I thought the similarities were to close not to be related somehow. Thanks for the info.

  • Has anyone ever "got it on" to this song? I always thought it would be perfect for the "occasion". LOL!!!!

  • Canada produced so much great music....Saga,Triumph, Toronto, Headpins, Rush, Aldo Nova, Loverboy, etc.

Canada thank you for the music, and the maple syrup.

  • One fricckin' awesome song!!! Brings back alot of high school memories!

  • dude love this song, man i smoked a lot of weed on this tape, it so weird that the bass player took of on a sail boat in the sea;s and was never found again, very odd,i would never go out by my self sailing!!!

  • RIP! Scott Smith! (Bassist)

  • @aceduece

I understand completely. Very unfashionable at the time to be a "metal head" like I was and admit you liked a journey or loverboy song for fear of ridicule and ostracization from my fellow "mullet haired metal head HS gang" haha.. Very good tune still

  • Definitely the most overlooked song on the huge huge selling "Get Lucky" album by Loverboy.

  • keyboards still kick ass!

  • Definitely their best song and one of best of that decade - Eventhough it was a hit, it always amazed me why it didn't get quite the attention it deserved back then.

  • I would have to say that this album Get Lucky is one of the best Loverboy has ever done. All the songs on this album is awesome!!!

  • Another one, sorry: This was one of my favorite songs in high school. It sounds different now- slower, more loping...but the lyrics mean something now! I guess that is the difference between age 16 and age 44- you take things less at their surface value, and you analyze more.

  • haha I remember turning my stuffed animals into my band members, making them pretend keyboards and drums and I was the lead singer. I invited my parents into my room and put on a concert with this song lolol hey I was 10 and an only child at that time, had to use my imagination ;)

  • I saw Loverboy in concert and he rocked Reunion Arena packed full so he had that something!!! Bet That

  • Remember getting this album from my aunt who lives in the States. She bought this record in the taxt-free zone on one of the American Airports I think. When I asked her why she bought this record for me she replied; Cant you guess??? Look at his steaming hot ass!!

  • Funkay!!!

  • I heard this song in the back of a car on the way to the Indianapolis Zoo in the summer when I was a kid...it was my parents music but I was just learning about rock n roll...one of the best songs ever

  • Talk about bringing back memories! If someone were to make a movie of my life this song would definitely be in the soundtrack, Just a kid of 17, left L.A and moved to Va Beach, got in a band there and met my wife, crazy rock and roll nights, bonfires on the beach ... damn I want a time machine!

  • ..so if you thing Loverboy SUCKS,,,why do you go on youtube and watch it????????

  • Love'em or Hate'em that boy got pipes!!! Take Me to the TOP!

  • hehehe
