saw a hot-ass stripper up in windsor canada (who looked like she was from penthouse mag.) take off all her clothes to this song, will never forget that moment ass long as i live.
Of all the songs I've ever heard, and all the songs I love, and all my very favorites, this one is in my top 10 of all time. Underrated, stellar, unlike anything else they did. After a million listens, I still pick out new notes I didn't hear before each time I put this on. Headphones as loud as they can go for the climax toward the end....... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes.
Back in the mid eighties I owned a sweet Aries K car, pin striped with cloth seats and a sun roof. I would pop in this cassette and crank it ! Oh, the memories !
Got to see them play this song in 2000 with the original lineup a few months before Scott Smith died boating in SF bay. Always thought this was their altime best track. 1982 - what a cook fucking year!!!!
Sends chills up and down my spine! Love the way this songs takes you to the top, then at the very end listen closely, as it brings you back down and leaves you ........(use your imagination).
Most delightfuly loveable, laydown lick,N lay" me wiv dah big dong'ed love ya long time song from 83' ...10th grade Hunnies ...There were juz so many ,AND... i did her til she qwivered and POPPED" to it ..."
Ok I just Read on Wiki that the "The wearer of the leather pants was the 14 year old daughter of the male photographer" there are some things you cant Unlearn..... lets see album title is get lucky and its an ass of a 14 year old..... Hmmm
not only is this a wicked loverboy song, but i'll put it up against anything that came out in the 80's, the guitar is so smooth and seducing, and it just takes on a whole new life at 3:36, they really show their range at that point.
used to ski lump with this blasting on my cassette player. Got some great air on this song. . Would make you take the chances normally you woulnt. And the ladies loved Reno and me!!! Timberline lodge and Multipor ski jump!! loved it all!
I blew a pair of speakers AND headphones when this song came out. Now I'm trying not to blow my computer speakers!!! I guess that about sums it up. :)
Yeah! One of the best 80's rock tracks! I loved Loverboy but it was hard for me to listen to them after what happened to their bass player, sad.......
I was 20 at that time, it was a awesome time and a awesome number, we really lived the live at that time.....and yes girls had wings.....and yes take me back !
saw them at the St.Pete rib fest in St.Petersburg, Fl in 98 and man they kicked ass 9000 people showed up even though had not played in awhile they sounded awesome!
also seen them live with ted nugent, its was a outdoor performance a great setting, music was loud , and a cool night breeze to set the tone for a rocking nite
Great base line, good guitar work, vocals OK, but falls flat due to the duration. A good producer could have turned this into something memorable. Alas, its lost in the vast ash bin of '80's cheese.
I had this in the cassette deck playing in my 74 impala on my way to school my senior year in high school, coming in from the country on a very icy morning, my car slid off the road, and went down in a ditch, and landed on her side......this song was playing at the time....forever etched in my mind.....
Things were just cooler back then, and things made more sense. The songs could make the hair on the back of you neck stand up. What happened?????? Guess I'll just have to live in the past (yes I want to)

@Matlike Boy what a lost art that is, I used to do the same thing! iPods and YouTube and having access to everything on demand is cool and all, but I think the kids of today are missing out on something by not having to "work for" their music like we did. I can remember one time when a friend and I sat in front of my TV in early days of MTV for 5-6 hours just to see a certain video.
@TennesseeMatty I love what you said.."lost art"!!! After reading your post, I started thinking about all the car speakers, and more home speakers...I love blown speakers out. And to this day, I still have the art!! :)

Motley Crue, Scorpions, Metallica, Poison, Bon Jovi, Whiesnake, Blue Murder, Kingdom Come, Bonham, London Choir Boys, The Cult, Cher, Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani, Yes, Coverdale-Page...all recorded in Vancouver Canada with Loverboy`s production staff and enginneers and studios. They all wanted that `loverboy sound`.
they really never went away, and they still rock like they did way back when.... I'm dying to see them live again, just saw they are playing a show in Vancouver, BC 1/14/2011. Such great memories from this music...
@jeffmoto72 right...high tops..fuckin walk mans..ghetto blasters....lol..and yes the cars man!..ohh the chicks..yea i basically agree with ya...weeeeeeeeee

My sister and I BLEW UP our Dad's speakers.....BOY, WAS HE PISSED.....FILE THAT ONE UNDER "OOPS!!!" ; )......You just couldn't play Loverboy loud enough in my opinion......Saw them in concert, too...10th grade...half of my High School was there....The COOL Half, Ha Ha....
oh yeah, roller skating to this back in the early 80,s was a blast, and the chic,s back then with those tight jeans on and the big hair...where did it go
Man, does this take me back. Chicks with legg warmers and headbands and spiked hair.Cruising in my 68 Chevelle. Damn those were some of the best times of my life. And the music was awesome!
@cutsumslack I guess red is the color, but, I still question the man who would wear such a thing (remember Eddie Murphy laughing his ass off in Beverly Hills Cop I)
The only way you would have ever known about this song is by buying the album. The radio stations seldom played it. It is to bad because this song is better than their hit "working for the weekend."
We just went & seen Loverboy last night in Santa Cruz on the beach & they butchered this song by adding in the saxaphone. But they did play all of there hits the second show at 8:30. Take me to the top Lucky ones It`s over Ladies of the 80`s Turn me loose Hot girls in love Working for the weekend The kid is hot tonight Loving every minute of it All for free

@perljms ....dude...get it right..YOU WENT AND SAW LOVERBOY LAST NIGHT....YOU MIGHT ''HAVE'' SEEN THEM B4,BUT LAST NIGHT YOU SAW THEM ,AND THEY KICKED ASS.........HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE SHOW....DETECTIVEDAVE
@717mienbao Dave the rave Olgilvie produced NIN. Dave is from Vancouver and worked as an engineer in the same studio Loverboy recorded this. Early Roland Super Juno. Trent used the same module. You have good ears 717
dude love this song, man i smoked a lot of weed on this tape, it so weird that the bass player took of on a sail boat in the sea;s and was never found again, very odd,i would never go out by my self sailing!!!
I understand completely. Very unfashionable at the time to be a "metal head" like I was and admit you liked a journey or loverboy song for fear of ridicule and ostracization from my fellow "mullet haired metal head HS gang" haha.. Very good tune still
Definitely their best song and one of best of that decade - Eventhough it was a hit, it always amazed me why it didn't get quite the attention it deserved back then.
Another one, sorry: This was one of my favorite songs in high school. It sounds different now- slower, more loping...but the lyrics mean something now! I guess that is the difference between age 16 and age 44- you take things less at their surface value, and you analyze more.
haha I remember turning my stuffed animals into my band members, making them pretend keyboards and drums and I was the lead singer. I invited my parents into my room and put on a concert with this song lolol hey I was 10 and an only child at that time, had to use my imagination ;)
Remember getting this album from my aunt who lives in the States. She bought this record in the taxt-free zone on one of the American Airports I think. When I asked her why she bought this record for me she replied; Cant you guess??? Look at his steaming hot ass!!
I heard this song in the back of a car on the way to the Indianapolis Zoo in the summer when I was a kid...it was my parents music but I was just learning about rock n roll...one of the best songs ever
Talk about bringing back memories! If someone were to make a movie of my life this song would definitely be in the soundtrack, Just a kid of 17, left L.A and moved to Va Beach, got in a band there and met my wife, crazy rock and roll nights, bonfires on the beach ... damn I want a time machine!
Beautiful. Powerful. Moving. So much like Led Zeppelin. That keyboard part is hypnotizing. Thanks for uploading this!

The only way you would have ever known about this song is by buying the album. The radio stations seldom played it. It is to bad because this song is better than their hit "working for the weekend."

Saw Loverboy last weekend at Nebraska Summerfest. Incredible show. Temperature was in the 90's in an outdoor concert and Mike Reno hit all the notes.

Again, the musicianship of this band was often so overlooked...Paul Dean is just incredible---tasteful, doesn't overplay, great sound...

the opening synth riff sounds a lot like Nine In Nails synth riff of Head Like A Hole which was written a decade later. Hmmmmmmm....

@717mienbao Dave the rave Olgilvie produced NIN. Dave is from Vancouver and worked as an engineer in the same studio Loverboy recorded this. Early Roland Super Juno. Trent used the same module. You have good ears 717

@Gordfozzfoster wow, now that is interesting. I thought the similarities were to close not to be related somehow. Thanks for the info.

Has anyone ever "got it on" to this song? I always thought it would be perfect for the "occasion". LOL!!!!

I understand completely. Very unfashionable at the time to be a "metal head" like I was and admit you liked a journey or loverboy song for fear of ridicule and ostracization from my fellow "mullet haired metal head HS gang" haha.. Very good tune still

Definitely the most overlooked song on the huge huge selling "Get Lucky" album by Loverboy.

keyboards still kick ass!

Definitely their best song and one of best of that decade - Eventhough it was a hit, it always amazed me why it didn't get quite the attention it deserved back then.

I would have to say that this album Get Lucky is one of the best Loverboy has ever done. All the songs on this album is awesome!!!
