There really WAS a veg-o-matic - it was your prototype infomercial product...one of Ron Popeil's first inventions (seriously). Both of them are starizing it :-)
The joke here was that "Live at the Palais" was his all-time least favorite album, and that he thought the only thing the album was good for was slicing up vegetables with it. Of course, I respectfully disagree.
