  • @BodyPerformanceTV, but what if you are able to not eat breakfast and not snack, maybe I just have good will power but I usually eat something like a a turkey sandwich and some chips for lunch maybe some chicken breast for dinner or maybe a sandwich, I never snack and I don't eat breakfast, this will result in weight loss correct because technically since I am not taking in extra calories from skipping breakfast it should be fine?

And now that im ready to start looking for a women i need to get back in shape. 6 yrs ago i was fit and a lean 175 lb. and 5-8. i played all sports in school. now from marraige and divorce i have turn into a 300 lb guy. i need to go back i am atlethic i still shoot hoops and do other activitys , but for some reason cant knock of the wieght. i ben checked my inside body is in perfect heath and i need your advice oh and im 26 yrs old. help ME

  • Hey guys, im 15 and have about 10 pounds of fat to lose. i go to the gym every day and do 20-30 mins of cardio then lift.

    My diet every day is:

    Breakfast: wheaties, 1 percent milk

    apple for a snake

    Lunch: turkey sandwich+skim milk

    after gym snack: Banana

    Dinner: whatever my mom cooks which is never really unhealthy

    Any improvements you could help me out on in my diet?

  • Why do so many people advocate 2% milk? Would nonfat be better? Or is there a different type of nutrional component to the two?

  • @BrownsGuy815 If you can stand the taste of skim, then that would be the way to go. It contains less fat so is lower than calories. This allows you to drink greater quantities of milk. If you want to drink 2%, that is fine except saturated fats are not very good for the body and you won't be able to drink as much. I have gotten used to skim over the years and 2% milk tastes weird to me now.

  • idk about this breakfast thing really. I know a few people who fast from time to time and they don't seem to complain about being hungry. Then tey do have a huge meal at the end of the day, but how big can a meal be? it's probably not more than 1000 calories for the day

  • Hi, you have that u work out 6 times/day. do u really mean day or week. Even if it is week that might still be too much. 2500 calories is too much as well. Follow serving sizes. Have three meals two snacks. Meal snack meal snack meal. drink water with every meal. and remember all you need is 1 serving size of what ever u use. and get lots of rest.

  • Hi there..I was wandering if you could help me with this..I work out usually 6 times a day and do mostly cardio..on the days I only do cardio I burn an average of 2000 cals..I am trying to lose weight but I am not sure how much I should be eating..Today I had 2500 cals..i never use to eat that much!!! will i still lose the weight? thank you!!!

  • I think I've got your answer.

    I'm no expert but I know some things.

    You really do not need to eat that much.

    Just stay away from sodas and extra food, like candy and dessert.

    I work out 4 times a week working on atleast three different areas.

    Run a mile and work out the muscles you want to improve on. In my case, the pecs and the abs.

  • Also for working out,

    using machines are OKAY, but it's not as effective as using regular weights such as bench pressing (unless you have bowflex because you train your muscles through resistance, not fake weight.)

    For the abs, do crunches, NOT situps.

    Crunches work your upper abs, situps doesn't do anything. For the lower abs, do leglifts.

    Do 50 crunches then alternate to 50 leglifts on each legs. Then work on upper body and just keep switching and do that for 20-40mins.

    If you eat 2500 calories, and burn 2000 through cardio, the chances are that you will eith go in zero, or lose a little.

    this because of the calories your body spends to keep itself alive.

    However if you burn 2000 calories in total, and eat 2500 then 500 of these calories are stored as fat. Easy explained, burn more then you eat, but never eat to little.

  • Fasting is good for spiritual reasons, but not the best way to loose weight. Fasting puts your body in a low energy state so you will burn calories slower. Thats why its important to eat breakdafast, just eat less.

  • Don't waste your time. It does not "Cleanse" the body or get rid of toxins. Plus, the next day you're starving. Plus, it slows the utilzation of calories. Just eat normal amounts and get some exercise.

  • how many calories should be eaten in one day if i rode a stationary bike for 30 min each day and lifted weights 3-4 per week?

  • It doesn't matter. Eat when you want and eat when you're hungry. It's still the total number of calories you eat in 24 hours not when you eat them.

  • So as long as hunger is not an issue, eating breakfast and eating regularly are non essential for losing weight since it does not affect the BMR?

    How long time must pass for the body to feel the glukos% in the plasma is too low and start to break down muscle tissue?

    Is BMR anyway tied to the Cortisol cycle of the day? As it inhibits insulin, could one plan high protein/fat meals when the cortisol concentration is at its lowest to counter a lowered glykogen reduction?

  • Cardio will not affect musclar gains until an individual does an excess amount of it. Meaning they start training like a marathoner. Intensity also palys a role too. Also, current musclarity plays a role as well. But 20-30 mintues of jogging or 45 minuts of walking 3-4 times a week is not an issue.

  • Hey Steve, I'm a 16YO Male, about 5'10 175pds and I'm trying to build more muscles as fast as possible...I've been weight lifting alot but I am curious if cardio plays a role in muscle gain? I can only run for about 2 minutes at a time before I get exauhsted...When I go to the gym I try to fit some cardio in but I don't do much at all...any info on how cardio plays a role in muscle gain? And I do drink protein shakes regularly even though you say not to because it help my muscles soreness.

  • Hey steve, ive been working out for about two months and have seen results. I am trying to loose weight quickly and safely over the summer. Ive been eating five small meals a day and two of them are protein shakes. I eat an egg white omlet for breakfast most mornings--is eating "lean" proteins like this doing me any good for speeding up metabolism?

  • no some people need calories to exersise the weight lifters eat alot to and exersise and do weights, carbohydrates fuel your body i know based on biochemistry i know most from the physed

  • Steve is right. Many persons greatly over estimate just how many calories walking or running burns. The calorie burn is surprisingly low.

  • it has nothing to do with satisfying your hunger, its about keeping your metabolism up. where are you coming up with this bogus info. are you making this up as you go?

    want to really loose weight ? have a sensible breakfast of either peanut butter on wheat toats or oatmeal, then for every other meal eat skinless chicken breast, seasoned but no sause, with a side of mixed vegis. no snacks. I do this for 6 weeks or so before a contest and drop down to single digit body fat.

  • I have a calorie counter on the site. But most people think they burn more calories than they really do. Think about walking a mile burning 80 calories and running a mile burning about 100. Use this as a reference.

  • You might try easing up on the kick boxing just long enough for you to start weight training. We just don't want you doing both and becoming soooo sore you can't move or get hurt.

I have read a lot of fat loss/muscle building info over the years, but I've never seen someone put it out there in such an organized/simple manner that everyone could understand.   • It will depend on how much you exercise and how much weight you want to lose. But if you burn 10% and exercise you can gradually lose weight.

  • 10-12 WORKING sets. 3-4 exercises. Train M-F. One body part a day except Mondays when we train chest and tris.

  • Yes, if they are 3 working sets. Meaning they are difficult to complete. Eventually you will probably have to add either more sets, reps or exercises.

  • Absolutely. Guys act like 30 mintues of walking or 20 mintues of jogging, both which burn only about 150 calories, will cause muscle loss That's total BS. AND my next video will cover this in more detail!

  • You can have breads, pastas, potatos, etc. Not a problem. And these supply more calories and energy. Just watch your TOTAL daily calorie intake. Fruits and veggies have MUCH less calories so you can eat lots of them. But since they don't have many calories it''s difficult to use ONLY them as an energy sourse. This is why you need higher calorie carbs as well.

  • Actually eating throughout the day instead of eating big meals will boost your matabolism so its all up to the person to decide if they have big cravings then they might want to have big meals or if they want to lose weight, well increase that matabolism and eating thoughout the day will help that!

  • Heres a personal tip to stop snacking, try to eat healthier foods like nuts, flax, hemp, quinoa, coconut, etc because there high on protien and will help keep you full (hopefully full enough to stop that snacking ;)

  • Nope. You can eat fruit. Not much sugar, low in calories, lots of water and fiber.

Ex- weight stack or free weights vs. power bands. 4) The people in the infomercial got in shape using free weights, machines, diet, cardio and are professional models. I'd rather join a gym,.

  • If we eat organic foods, and stuff of that nature, we get more nutrients more energy to lose weight, and feel better. we need to avoid GMO foods aspartame, BPA (in plastics), fluoride (toothpaste, tap water, at the dentist, etc.), chlorine (tap water), MSG, vaccines (if you look closely you will find a cover up by big pharma in the vaccines bad vs good and you will find there bad, but dont let me say this, look it up), and much more to avoid and we will feel better and happier.

    When you feel good and have a good immune system and don't get sick, you feel better, happier and feel like working out more and you get sick less so your workout schedule will not be interupted by you sickness! Vaccines, chlorine and fluoride all weaken the immune system so if you get a sickenss that may ruin your workout schedule.

    Vitamin D is good for your overall health and can make you feel better if your lacking vitamin d.

  • You can lift weights just like anybody else. Using machines would be much easier than any type of body weight exercises. 2-3 times a week. Start out slow & genlty. Then LOTS of cardio. If possible short sessions 10-15 minutes 3-5 timesa day. This will get your body used to exercising and using fat! Then you can increase your time and decrease the sessions.

  • Too true, I weigh 444lbs. I started eating breakfast again after about 10 years of going without. I've lost 7 lbs over the last week just from eating 2 plain boiled eggs in the morning.

    What are some exercises/activities you would suggest for someone who is morbidly obese?

  • Same place carbs and proteins go. They are broken down into energy. But if you're in good shape your body uses fats and more calories!

  • Should we eat a balanced breakfast as opposed to just foods that contain carbs? yes! Not everyone has the same metabolic needs. I am a protein type you maybe a mixed type. Balanced is best. Fat is not the bad guy. Moderation is key.

  • Steve, that's an awful lot of carbs w/o enough fat. Way to mess up you blood glucose balance! Fat has a role in weight loss. It is what satiates hunger for long periods of time. Low fat don't work in the long run.

  • Sorry but it isn't too many carbs. Plus carbs DO NOT raise your blood sugar as much as the inexperienced think. And those foods contain enough fats that 1) you don't have to supplement with fat OR 2) the fat slows the absorption of suagr. Low fat ,and therefore lower calorie, absolutely works!
