Yes, what happened to the cultural respect that used to be there for the happiest guy at the fruit stand...the happiest taxidermist, the most enthusiastic cobbler, the happiest garbage pickuper...the happiest field hand, etc.

Why is it that some jobs have gotten a bad rap, so that people who actually like to do them, if they are good at it are promoted out of them? (The Peter Principle- people are promoted up until they reach their level of incompetence.)
