Amazing place. What about of restauration ? Take care of such historical buildings. This is something like world culture heritage. Would like to visit it.

@BuridansEsel1 There are over 3000 ancient sites in Turkey. We can not restore all of them but we do our best to preserve them for future generations.

@Paulynyc So sad that descendants of the people who built countless mosques and other monuments in Greece can not notice single one them when they visit this land. It is a shame that you destroyed all of them after occupying their lands.

Congratulations Simurftr!

You are brave to promote Mother Mary of Mount Soumela. I feel proud that my grandparents left a monument for eternal memory of our Christian faith in Trapezous region. My grandmother is from Kromne, the vilage next to Soumela.

It would be nice if it opens one day for Sunday liturgies. That would brng more people to the Monastery and economically it would give a push up to this very beautiful region.
